The German duo of Putz/Krawietz will take on No.4 seeds Krajicek and Dodig in the Quarter-finals of the French Open
Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek are seasoned campaigners and seeded fourth at the Italian Open. They are one of the most highly-rated doubles pairs on the ATP tour and are expected to go deep into the tournament.
Dodig and Krajicek have already won two ATP doubles titles so far this year – the ATP Rotterdam Open and the Monte Carlo Masters. However, they have seen a dip in form recently and suffered two first-round exits in their two previous tournaments – the Barcelona Open and the Madrid Open. They will be eager to capitalise on their good start and challenge for their third title of the year.
The US-Croatian pair began their campaign in Paris with a hard-fought win over the Argentine duo of Duran/Baez. They then went on to get the better of Huesler/Jarry in straight sets before registering another commendable win against the pair of Cabral/Matos. The job gets tougher now though and it remains to be seen if they can live up to expectations and progress further in the tournament.
Putz and Krawietz’s form coming into the match
The all-German duo of Putz and Krawietz are seeded No.11 and have been very impressive so far at the French Open. They haven’t dropped a single set in their previous three rounds and look in sublime touch. However, they will face an uphill task against the experienced duo of Krajicek/Dodig and any wrong move can lead to their elimination. It will be interesting to see if they have what it takes to cause a major upset against the much higher seeds.

Head to head and Predictions
Krajicek/Dodig and Putz/Krawietz have never played each other before on the ATP tour. This is the first professional head-to-head clash between the two pairs. On paper, Krajicek/Dodig are the favourites both in terms of experience and rankings. However, one can certainly not rule out the promising German pair and they are expected to put up a tough fight. We are predicting an intense encounter with Krajicek and Dodig eventually winning in three sets.
