The mixed doubles pairing of Mahut/Hseih will take on Vega Hernandez/Ostapenko in the first round of the French Open
French veteran Nicolas Mahut has teamed up with Hsieh Su-wei for the Mixed Doubles event at the French Open. Both are experienced doubles players but they haven’t quite got enough experience of playing together.
Mahut and Hsieh will have to focus on complementing each other’s playing style in order to have a chance of progressing deep into the tournament. It remains to be seen if the pair has what it takes to create history at the French Open in Paris.
Vega Hernandez/Ostapenko’s form coming into the match
Spain’s David Vega Hernandez and Latvian star Jelena Ostapenko have teamed up for the Mixed Doubles event at the French Open. They form a really formidable pair and one of the favourites to win this title. Both of them are really experienced doubles and they will be looking to use their invaluable experience to progress deep into the tournament.
Hernandez and Ostapenko will have to carefully manage their hectic schedule though. Ostapenko has been eliminated from the women’s singles event but she is still alive in doubles and mixed doubles. Hernandez is also scheduled to play both singles and doubles in Paris. They would definitely not want a situation where exhaustion and fatigue hinders their performance on the court and it would be interesting to see how they manage to cope up with this tight schedule without compromising on results.

Head to head and Predictions
Mahut/Hsieh and Vega Hernandez/Ostapenko have never played each other before on a professional tour. This is the first official head-to-head clash between the two pairs. On paper, Vega Hernandez and Ostapenko are the favourites both in terms of experience and rankings. However, one can certainly not rule out the promising French-Taiwan duo and they are expected to put up a tough fight. We are predicting a close encounter with Hernandez and Ostapenko winning in three sets.
