The pair of Murray/Venus will take on No.3 seeds Rojer/Arevalo in the third round of the French Open
Michael Venus and Jamie Murray are an experienced duo and have come into the tournament high on confidence after a title-winning run at the recently concluded Geneva Open. Venus and Murray are regulars on the ATP and have won three ATP titles so far this season – the Dallas Open, the Srpska Open and the Geneva Open. However, they will face the No.3 seeds in their upcoming encounter and that is certainly a tough challenge for the veteran duo.
Despite the quality of their opposition, the British and Kiwi duo would draw a lot of confidence from their recent performances. They are yet to drop a set so far and have won both their previous encounters in straight sets. It remains to be seen if they can pull off a major upset against the third seeds.
Rojer and Arevalo’s form coming into the match
Jean-Julien Rojer and Marcelo Arevalo are one of the most experienced pairs in the professional circuit. They are seeded No.3 in the tournament and have won both their previous encounters in convincing fashion. Despite being one of the strongest doubles pairs on the ATP tour, Rojer and Arevalo have had a disappointing 2023 so far.
They suffered early exits in some of their recent tournaments including the Indian Wells Masters and the Miami Open. Their best performance of the season came at the Delray Beach Open in February, when they were crowned champions. Now that they have made a good start to the tournament, they will look to replicate that incredible run and bag their maiden Grand Slam title of the season.

Head to head and Predictions
Murray/Venus and Rojer/Arevalo have played each other once before on the ATP tour. Murray and Venus emerged victorious on that occasion which happened to be the Miami Open earlier this year and thereby leads 1-0 on head to head. On paper, Rojer/Arevalo are the favourites both in terms of form and rankings. We can certainly expect Murray/Venus to put up a tough fight but the No.3 seeds should eventually prevail. We are predicting a win in three sets for Rojer and Arevalo.
