No.9 seeds Gonzalez/Roger-Vasselin will face the all-Indian pairing of Myneni/Bhambri in the second round of the French Open
Myneni/Bhambri’s form coming into the match
The Indian duo of Saketh Myneni and Yuki Bhambri have had a stellar season so far. They mostly play in the Challenger series and have dominated that level this year. They have done well on the ATP tour in the limited chances they have got and have come to Paris following a commendable quarter-final appearance at the Lyon Open.
Myneni/Bhambri have begun their campaign in Paris with a comprehensive 6-3, 6-2 win over the French duo of Rinderknech/Couacaud. The job only gets tougher from here though and they are set to face an uphill task against the ninth seeds. It remains to be seen if the Indian pair has what it takes to pull off a major upset and progress further in the tournament.
Gonzalez/Roger-Vasselin’s form coming into the match
Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin are one of the most experienced doubles pairs in the men’s circuit. The Mexican-French pair are coming into this encounter following a dominating 6-2, 6-2 win over McLachlan/Goransson. They are one of the dark horses to clinch the title in Paris but first they have to deal with a tricky opponent in the form of the Indian duo. They will be entering this encounter as favourites but they can certainly not afford to be complacent.

Head to head and Predictions
Bhambri/Myneni and Gonzalez/Roger-Vasselin have never played each other before on the ATP tour. This is the first professional head-to-head clash between the two pairs. On paper, the No.9 seeds are the favourites both in terms of experience and rankings. However, one can certainly not rule out the in-form Indian duo and they are expected to put up a tough fight. We are predicting a close encounter with Bhambri and Myneni causing an upset in three sets.
