Brazilian sensation Thiago Seyboth Wild will take on No.27 seed Yoshihito Nishioka in the third round of the French Open
Nishioka has had a pretty strange tournament so far. He has managed to scrap two thrilling victories but has looked nowhere near his best.
The Japanese star began his campaign with an epic comeback win against JJ Wolf of the US. He showed tremendous determination and grit to come back from two sets down to script a memorable victory. In the second round, he once again went down a set against Australia’s Max Purcell. However, he mounted a strong comeback to win the next three sets and seal the match.
Nishioka’s form has certainly not been good coming into this tournament but these two victories should give him confidence. He hasn’t been at his sublime best and has lacked consistency throughout the season. There are high expectations from him and he is certainly capable of doing much better than his recent results. It remains to be seen if he can bring out his A-game and progress further in the tournament.
Thiago Seyboth Wild’s form coming into the match
Brazilian youngster Thiago Seyboth Wild has been the talk of the town since his epic first-round victory against No.2 seed Daniil Medvedev. The 23-year-old has burst onto the scene and taken everyone by surprise.
He caused one of the greatest upsets of all-time in a Grand Slam in the first round, beating Medvedev in a thrilling five-setter. The World No.172 then went on to get the better of Guido Pella in four sets. It remains to be seen if the Brazilian can continue his dream run or just falls short against the higher-ranked Nishioka.
