French Open 2023: Zeballos/Granollers vs Peers/Melo – Preview, Predictions, Head to head and Stats

Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers are an experienced doubles pair and have been in decent touch this season. They have been mighty impressive in Paris and didn’t drop a single set in the previous two rounds. Zeballos and Granollers have both experience and form on their side which makes them a really formidable pair. However, they will have to be at the top of their game in order to have any chance of going all the way and winning the title.

The tenth seeds began their French Open campaign with a convincing 6-2, 6-3 victory against the Dutch pair of Stevens/Griekspoor. They were equally convincing in the second round and registered another dominating victory against Fognini/Bolelli to progress to the third round. It remains to be seen how far they can progress in the tournament.

John Peers and Marcelo Melo’s form coming into the match

John Peers and Marcelo Melo have taken everyone by surprise at the French Open. The unseeded pair has been thoroughly impressive in the tournament and has certainly exceeded expectations. They began their campaign with a hard-fought win against Kecmanovic/Blumberg and then went on to pull off a major upset against seventh seeds Nys/Zielinski. It remains to be seen if the pair has what it takes to cause another upset and progress further in the tournament.

Head to head and Predictions

Granollers/Zeballos and Peers/Melo have never played each other before on the ATP tour. This is the first professional head to head clash between the two pairs. On paper, Granollers/Zeballos are the favourites both in terms of experience and rankings. However, one can certainly not rule out the promising Australian-Brazilian pair and they are expected to put up a tough fight. We are predicting an intense encounter with Granollers and Zeballos eventually winning in four sets.
