Manchester City steamrolled League One outfit Burton Albion 9-0 in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at the Etihad, virtually ending the contest and the opposition’s fairytale cup run.
The Citizens beat Huddersfield Town 3-0 in a comprehensive manner and Pep Guardiola’s men will once again be the favourites to destroy the opposition when they make the trip to the Pirelli Stadium to face Burton.
The fans might get to catch a glance of some of the young players in action, with Guardiola likely to field a weakened line-up. Burton certainly do not have a chance of turning the tables but they will be looking to come away with a respectable scoreline in front of their own fans.
Benjamin Mendy is back to training but he is not likely to play a part on Wednesday night while Vincent Kompany might be pushing for a return from his muscular injury. Claudio Bravo and Eliaquim Mangala are long-term absentees for the Citizens.
