Genshin Impact Chongyun Best Build Guide – Weapons and Artifacts

Published by

Find out the Best Weapons and Artifacts for Chongyun in our Best Build Guide. The Cryo Support of the National team in Genshin Impact!

Chongyun is a 4-Star Cryo Claymore user in Genshin Impact. Chongyun is an exorcist with an excess of ‘yang,’ or positive energy, which he was born with. This is both a plus and a minus for him. Chongyun has never seen a spirit despite being a skilled exorcist, as they flee from his pure yang spirit.

If he possesses the correct weapon and artifact, the four-star claymore user can still be fairly deadly in battle. It’s also worth noting that Chongyun is better used as a sub-DPS or a support character rather than the main DPS. This is partly owing to the fact that his non-elemental attacks aren’t as strong as those of most characters in his class, and his burst converts all damage done inside its field to freeze damage, which slows down reactions. Here is our Chongyun Best Build Guide.

Genshin Impact Chongyun

  • Charged Attack – Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous swirling attacks against all nearby enemies. At end of the sequence, perform a more powerful slash

Spirit Blade – Chonghua’s Layered Frost (Elemental Skill)

Chongyun strikes the ground with his greatsword, causing a Cryo explosion in a circular AoE in front of him that deals Cryo DMG. After a short delay, the cold air created by the Cryo explosion will coalesce into a Chonghua Frost Field, within which all DMG done through Normal and Charged Attacks by Sword, Greatsword and Polearm-wielding characters will be converted to Cryo DMG.

Spirit Blade – Cloud-Parting Star (Elemental Burst)

Performing the secret hand seals, Chongyun summons 3 giant spirit blades in mid-air that fall to the earth one by one after a short delay, exploding as they hit the ground. When the spirit blades explode, they will deal AoE Cryo DMG and launch enemies.

We recommend pairing him with Diluc to help trigger melt or Razor for superconduct in a party. Or if not you can always use him in the best 4-Star National Team with Xiangling, Xingqiu and Bennett.
