Genshin Impact Gorou Best Build Guide – Weapons and Artifacts

Here is our complete Best Build Guide for the 4-Star Geo character Gorou. He is a superb Geo support character!

Gorou is a 4-Star Geo Bow user in Genshin Impact. We were first introduced to Gorou when we met the leader of the resistance — Sangonomiya Kokomi. Gorou is a member of the anti-vision hunt resistance movement, and he has a laid-back attitude. Kazuha, who was liberated by Gorou, says in-game voice lines that “he’s the type of person who says whatever is on his mind.” He shares his subordinate’s highs and lows, and he is never reluctant to wield his sword for the sake of a friend.” Like Diona, he’s an anthropomorphic character with fox ears and a tail.

As long as Gorou is in the party, his passive talent Seeker of Shinies allows the player to discover nearby Inazuma-Exclusive Items like Naku Weed and Sango Pearls. Gorou Best Build Guide

Strengths

• Boosts DEF, interruption resistance, and Geo DMG.
• Buffs the entire party’s DEF after using Elemental Burst.
• C4 can heal active characters during Elemental Burst.
• C6 can increase Geo CRIT DMG.
• Displays Inazuma Specialties on the minimap

Weaknesses

• You need Geo characters in the team to fully utilize him.
• Elemental Burst has a high Energy Cost

Gorou Talents

Ripping Fang Fletching (Normal Attack)

Normal Attack – Performs up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.

Charged Attack – Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.

While aiming, stone crystals will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged crystalline arrow will deal Geo DMG.

Passive Attack – Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Inuzaka All-Round Defence (Elemental Skill)

Deals AoE Geo DMG and sets up a General’s War Banner.

General’s War Banner

Provides up to 3 buffs to active characters within the skill’s AoE based on the number of Geo characters in the party at the time of casting:

• 1 Geo character: Adds “Standing Firm” – DEF Bonus.
• 2 Geo characters: Adds “Impregnable” – Increased resistance to interruption.
• 3 Geo characters: Adds “Crunch” – Geo DMG Bonus.

Gorou can deploy only 1 General’s War Banner on the field at any one time. Characters can only benefit from 1 General’s War Banner at a time. When a party member leaves the field, the active buff will last for 2s.

Juuga: Forward Unto Victory (Elemental Burst)

Displaying his valor as a general, Gorou deals AoE Geo DMG and creates a field known as General’s Glory to embolden his comrades.

General’s Glory

This field has the following properties:

• Like the General’s War Banner created by Inazuka All-Round Defense, provides buffs to active characters within the skill’s AoE based on the number of Geo characters in the party. Also moves together with your active character.
• Generates 1 Crystal Collapse every 1.5s that deals AoE Geo DMG to 1 opponent within the skill’s AoE.
• Pulls 1 elemental shard in the skill’s AoE to your active character’s position every 1.5s (elemental shards are created by Crystallize reactions).

If a General’s War banner created by Gorou currently exists on the field when his ability is used, it will be destroyed. In addition, for the duration of General’s Glory, Gorou’s Elemental Skill “Inazuka All-Round Defense” will not create the General’s War Banner. If Gorou falls, the effects of General’s Glory will be cleared.

Gorou Passive Talents

Seeker of Shinies (Unlocked Automatically)

Displays the location of nearby resources unique to Inazuma on the mini-map

Headless of the Wind and Winter (Unlocked at Ascension 1)

After using Juuga: Forward Unto Victory, all nearby party members’ DEF is increased by 25% for 12s.

A Favour Repaid (Unlocked at Ascension 4)

Gorou receives the following DMG Bonuses to his attacks based on his DEF:

• Inuzaka All-Round Defense: Skill DMG increased by 156% of DEF
• Juuga: Forward Unto Victory: Skill DMG and Crystal Collapse DMG increased by 15.6% of DEF

Best Weapons Build for Gorou

1. Elegy for the End

Base Attack: 46

Bonus Effect: Energy Recharge 12.00% 

Skill Effect – Increased Elemental Mastery by 60. Gain sigils when dealing damage with Elemental Skill or Burst. Elemental Mastery increased by 100 and ATK increased by 20% at 4 sigils.

2. Favonius Warbow

Base Attack: 41

Bonus Effect: Energy Recharge 13.3% 

Skill Effect – CRIT Hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

3. Sacrificial Bow

Base Attack: 44

Bonus Effect: Energy Recharge 6.7% 

Skill Effect – After damaging an opponent with an Elemental Skill, the skill has a 40% chance to end its own CD. Can only occur once every 30s

Best Artifact Build for Gorou

1. Husk of Opulent Dreams

• DEF +30%
• A character equipped with this Artifact set will obtain the Curiosity effect in the following conditions: When on the field, the character gains 1 stack after hitting an opponent with a Geo attack, triggering a maximum of once every 0.3s. When off the field, the character gains 1 stack every 3s. Curiosity can stack up to 4 times, each providing 6% DEF and a 6% Geo DMG Bonus. When 6 seconds pass without gaining a Curiosity stack, 1 stack is lost

2. Archaic Petra

• Gain a 15% Geo DMG Bonus.
• Upon obtaining an Elemental Shard Created through a Crystallize Reaction, all party members gain a 35% DMG Bonus for that particular element for 10s. Only one form of Elemental DMG Bonus can be gained in this manner at any one time.

3. Noblesse Oblige

• Elemental Burst DMG +20%.
• Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.

Gorou Constellation – Canis Bellatoris

1. Rushing Hound: Swift as the Wind (Constellation 1)

When characters (other than Gorou) within the AoE of Gorou’s General’s War Banner or General’s Glory deal Geo DMG to opponents, the CD of Gorou’s Inuzaka All-Round Defense is decreased by 2s. This effect can occur once every 10s.

2. Sitting Hound: Steady as a Clock (Constellation 2)

While General’s Glory is in effect, its duration is extended by 1s when a nearby active character obtains an Elemental Shard from a Crystallize reaction. This effect can occur once every 0.1s. Max extension is 3s.

3. Mauling Hound: Fierce as Fire (Constellation 3)

• Increases the level of Inuzaka All-Round Defense by 3.
• Maximum upgrade level is 15.

4. Lapping Hound: Warm as Water (Constellation 4)

When General’s Glory is in the “Impregnable” or “Crunch” states, it will also heal active characters within its AoE by 50% of Gorou’s own DEF every 1.5s.

5. Striking Hound: Thunderous Force (Constellation 5)

• Increases the level of Juuga: Forward Unto Victory by 3.
• Maximum upgrade level is 15.

6. Valiant Hound: Mountainous Fealty (Constellation 6)

For 12s after using Inuzaka All-Round Defense or Juuga: Forward Unto Victory, increases the CRIT DMG of all nearby party members’ Geo DMG based on the buff level of the skill’s field at the time of use:

• “Standing Firm”: +10%
• “Impregnable”: +20%
• “Crunch”: +40%

This was our Gorou Best Build Guide. He is an excellent Geo support character and your should level up his elemental skill if you plan on using him. He will need 2 more Geo characters in the team to fully unleash him but that is when you have constellation 6.
