Want to get stronger with Layla in Genshin Impact? Follow the best tips and tricks from the Genshin Impact Layla guide.
As part of Version 3.2, Layla will be introduced as a 4-star Cryo character with a sword, which she will wield. In addition to shooting stars and inflicting the cryo element, she is expected to be a shielder character that causes elemental reactions.
A rare character specialized in the Cryo element, Layla’s kit is similar to Diona’s, but she has a shield that can provide more bonus damage as well as energy particles to the team in some circumstances. Diona’s shield and Ganyu’s burst AoE allow Layla to be a decent Support and Cryo Enabler. The Genshin Impact Layla guide will help you with some of the best tips and tricks to make you stronger.
Cryo DMG is dealt AoE by Layla’s Curtain of Slumber shield. When the shield is deployed, Layla will be temporarily affected by Cryo DMG. The DMG Absorption of the Curtain of Slumber is based on her max health, and Cryo DMG is absorbed 250% effectively. Every 1.5 seconds, the Curtain of Slumber creates one Night Star that is attached to it.
The use of an elemental skill by a character who is shielded by this spell will result in the creation of 2 Night Stars. Then, once every 0.3s, a Night Star is produced. At any given moment, a player can only have 4 Night Stars accumulated.
A Celestial Dreamsphere unleashed by Layla constantly fires Starlight Slugs, causing Cryo DMG to opponents. As a result of each Starlight Slug hitting, a Curtain of Slumber gains one Night Star every 0.5 seconds.
There are two best constellations:
Starlight Slugs have a 40% increased DMG from Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker, and Shooting Stars have a 40% increased DMG from Nights of Formal Focus. Additionally, 20% has been taken off the interval between creating Night Stars via Nights of Formal Focus.
Shield Absorbance is increased by 20% when Nights of Formal Focus generates a Curtain of Slumber. Upon unleashing Nights of Formal Focus, she will also create a shield for any party members not protected by a Curtain of Slumber nearby. There will be 35% more absorption with this shield than there would be with a Curtain of Slumber. It will last for 12 seconds, and it will be 250% more effective at absorbing Cryo DMG.
She is a support character, so she can fit into almost any team composition that requires shielding support and cryo enabler. In addition, she can be played purely as an enabler. This character is able to do most of what you’re looking for, except for main DPSing, unless you create a team that is solely dedicated to it.
For Layla, Tenacity of the Millelith is the best artifact set, followed by Noblesse Oblige. There are similar buffs in both four piece sets, though Tenacity’s buffs can be continued indefinitely, making them stronger the longer a battle lasts. The Tenacity of the Millelith fulfills all of Layla’s needs for an artifact. It strengthens shields and raises everyone’s ATK, and Noblesse Oblige pulls off a passable Tenacity impersonation.
It is possible for Layla to maximize her HP with the Key of Khaj-Nisut, but for those who have not acquired it, a 20% bonus HP can also be gained with Primordial Jade Cutter. The Sacrificial Sword allows Layla to reset her Elemental Skill’s cooldown, so if the shield breaks before it expires, players can recast it.
Her Elemental Skill allows Layla to shield your team from enemies and apply cryo to them using her Elemental Skill. Keeping her HP stat as high as possible through her weapons and artifacts is the best way to maximize her shield. With her constellations, her shields will be even more effective, and her ability to cast Elemental Burst will be made easier.
Fortunately, Layla doesn’t need to construct a lot of Energy Recharge to Burst often, so she won’t require a second Cryo character to produce energy for her either. Flexibility is improved by this for her team.
The Curtain of Slumber will transform into homing Shooting Stars when it accumulates 4 Night Stars and there are opponents nearby, dealing Cryo DMG to any opponents that they hit with their shots. Night Stars will disappear if the Curtain of Slumber ends or is destroyed, but if they are already fired off as Shooting Stars, they will last until the wave of shots ends.
