Mihoyo has revealed two new characters coming to Genshin Impact. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming characters.
Arataki Itto, who had been teased for a future Genshin Impact update, has now been formally revealed by developer miHoYo. It’s possible that Itto may become playable with the upcoming Version 2.2 update, but it’s more probable that he’ll appear on his own Banner Wish later. This is when Genshin Impact fans can expect to see Itto in action. Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming Genshin Impact new characters.
Mihoyo has officially revealed the character on their Twitter account. From the character poster revealed by Mihoyou, it looks like Itto will be a claymore user. The weapon in his hand looks very similar to the 3-star claymore, Debate Club. We may also get a special weapon for this new character.
Itto has already been mentioned by some characters in passing. Arataki Itto is a Geo character with Oni blood in his veins. He is one of the fantastical races from the Inazuma region. Itto is based on the traditional Oni stereotype seen in anime, in which they are depicted as noisy but not necessarily malicious individuals. As a result, Itto is in charge of a gang. In Japanese folklore, the club is also one of Oni’s traditional weapons.
Gorou is well-known to everyone because he appears during the Inazuma Archon quest. However, he is not yet a playable character. Gorou is a general in the rebel army of Sangonomiya Kokomi and a close friend of Kadehara Kazuha. He is a geo character and a bow user. We have already seen him in action during the fight between the Shogungate and the Watatsumi Army.
According to reports and leaks, Itto will be a five-star character while Gorou would be a four-star character. It’s also rumoured that the latter will be included in the second part of patch 2.3, alongside Albedo.
Mihoyo will reveal more information about the upcoming characters as we get closer to the 2.3 release date. Right now, Mihoyo is preparing the release of the Genshin Impact 2.2 update. This will be a very light update with two character reruns of Childe and Hu Tao. They are also releasing the new character Thoma, in the same banner as Hu Tao.
