Here is our Guide on how to beat the Geo Hypostasis in Genshin Impact. You can beat this boss easily using our guide!
There are a variety of really difficult opponents to fight against throughout Genshin Impact. Many of the game’s enemies are common monsters, such as Hilichurls, that pose minimal threat to even the most inexperienced gamers. Other opponents, such as mages, will pose a greater challenge to gamers.
Players will encounter a significant challenge from boss-type monsters, regardless of which ones they face. Almost all players are confronted by the cube-like Hypostasis bosses. The Geo Hypostasis is one of these bosses, and it will use its extremely powerful Geo-powers to inflict damage on the player. This guide will teach players how to locate the Geo-Hypostasis and defeat it in battle.
Geo Hypstasis in Adventure Handbook
Code Name: Gimel. A high-purity Geo entity.
Elemental hypostases are ultra-compact structures with a high mass. Concentrated elemental energy forms a solid shell around the core of the hypostasis, leaving only the core reactive to the elemental stimuli.
Geo Hypostasis Location
The Geo Hypostasis can be found on the top island of Guyun Stone Forest, east of Liyue. It’s not easy to get to, but gliding from the cliff west of Guyun Stone Forest should get you to the first island. To get to the boss arena, swim or follow the shallow pathways that connect each island. The Geo Hypostasis will respawn a few minutes after it has died, and you can complete it as many times as you want within a week.
Best Characters to defeat Geo Hypostasis
It is highly recommended that you use claymore weapons when fighting against the Geo Hypostasis since this type of weapon can break obstacles much faster than the rest. Claymores are powerful but can be slow compared to the other weapon types. Switching characters of a different weapon type, while the Geo Hypostasis is vulnerable, will allow you to deal more damage.
Some catalyst users such as Ningguang and Klee are able to deal damage that breaks obstacles like this quickly too. We recommend using Noelle, Diluc, Razor, and Chongyun.
Geo Hypostasis Attack Patterns
Stone Launcher
An attack that shoots multiple small rocks that can easily be avoided by moving around.
Geo Shockwave
A single shockwave is emitted from the rock pillar when the Geo Hypostasis is on top of it. It only deals minor damage and it has no follow-up attack.
Geo Pulse
The most dangerous attack of the Geo Hypostasis. It can be countered by destroying the floating cube near the center rock pillar. This will create a shield in a small area that can protect you from the shockwaves.
Meteor Shower
Falling rocks from the sky. It can be avoided by moving away from the yellow circles on the ground or the sky.
Geo Hypostasis Fight Guide
The main goal is to destroy the tower on which the boss is perched. Using a Claymore user or Geo-based attacks against this type of opponent is required. It’s possible to deliver damage to the core just after the first set of towers is called, but this will also trigger a ground pound attack from the Geo Hypostasis. The opponent will then flicker off to the side of its tower before transforming into a hammer. It’s time to go after the core once more.
At 5% health, the Geo Hypostasis, like the rest of the Hypostasis bosses, will enter recovery mode. All that remains is to demolish all three towers in order to complete the task. If any of the towers are still standing at the end of the phase, it will restore a huge portion of the boss’s HP, allowing it to battle just like it did in Phase 1. But that’s fine because all Unbroken towers retain damage between phases, so if the player manages to shatter two towers in the first phase, finishing the monster will be easier.
Geo Hypostasis Rewards
Defeating the Geo Hypostasis and spending 40 Original Resin gets you 200 Adventure XP, some Mora, and a few unique Character Ascension materials. On top of this you’ll get a random assortment of Artifacts:
- Basalt Pillar

This was our Guide on how to defeat the Geo Hypostasis in Genshin Impact. Noelle is the ultimate counter to this boss and you get her for free! She is a Claymore user and also a Geo character, ticking all of the boxes. To defeat the Geo Hypostasis, use Noelle to smash all of the rock pillars that the Geo Hypostasis summons. Not only will breaking these rock pillars prevent the Geo Hypostasis from regaining health, but it will also limit the range of several of its attacks.
Because Noelle’s attack damage is so low, you should instead switch to Xiangling, Klee or Ninnguang to deal damage when the Geo Hypostasis is vulnerable. To increase your damage output, mix up their elemental skills and cause elemental reactions.
