Geoffrey Bodine is a retired American NASCAR driver who competed in more than 550 races in the NASCAR cup series. Bodine is the winner of Daytona 500, Winston Select, and Busch Clash. He created a record by securing the most wins in one season (55 wins in modifieds). Some of Geoffrey Bodine’s lucky mascots were Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Ford Thunderbird, and Ford Taurus. Geoffrey Bodine Car Collections

Bodine began his cup series debut in 1979 for the Race Hill Farm Team in Oldsmobile. He drove Oldsmobile vehicles like Omega and Cutlass. His iconic car in NASCAR was Chevrolet sponsored by Levi Garrett. He won the Daytona 500 in 1986 for Hendrick Motorsports in Chevrolet. He won the 1992 Busch Clash in his Ford Thunderbird sponsored by Motorcraft.

In his early days, Bodine drove Pontiac vehicles like the Grand Prix for Cliff Stewart Racing and Bahre Racing. Geoffrey Bodine’s race car collections also include Dodge and Buick cars. Apart from these, he drove Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Ford F-150 in most races. He also drove #7 Exide Ford Thunderbird in some seasons and secured the title in the 1994 Winston Select event.

Geoffrey Bodine Car Accidents

Geoff Bodine experienced a major accident during the 2000 Daytona 250 Truck Series. During lap 57, Bodine’s Ford F-150 was hit by Rob Morgan’s vehicle. He was driving at 190mph and collided with the other vehicle. Geoffrey Bodine’s front end of the car was damaged and he hit the catch fence before getting hit by another vehicle. His Ford car caught fire and he survived with wrist and ankle injuries. This was the biggest car crash in the NASCAR Truck Series and Bodine almost lost his life.

In the 1989 Watkins Glen, Bodine suffered a small accident and escaped without injuries. He was involved in multiple accidents in other race tracks as well. Bodine’s accident in the Daytona Truck Series caught the attention of the media and it was in the headlines for a few weeks. Many fans and crew members thought Bodine was killed on the spot, but he managed to survive the incident. Geoffrey Bodine was a fighter as he continued to race till the 2011 NASCAR season even after the major accident.

Geoffrey Bodine began his cup series debut in the #47 Oldsmobile. His iconic car numbers were #7 and #15 Ford Thunderbird. His Chevrolet #5 was another vehicle that brought him many wins. He also drove #1 and #99 Oldsmobile cars. He won the Daytona 500 in #5 Chevrolet vehicle for Hendrick Motorsports. He also drove Pontiac Grand Prix cars with numbers like #50 and #88.

Geoffrey Bodine Car Design 

Geoffrey Bodine’s #15 Red Ford Thunderbird had paint schemes from Motorcraft. His Levi Garrett Chevrolet was designed in white and yellow colors. Bodine’s Exide Batteries’ Ford Thunderbird was designed in Black, Purple, and Blue colors. His other Ford sponsors were Philips and Budweiser.
