Shannon Sharpe recently pointed out a major loophole in fellow NBA analyst Skip Bayless while comparing James and Durant.
In an episode of Undisputed on August 25, Shannon Sharpe points out a key flaw in Skip Bayless’ comparison of LeBron James and Kevin Durant. When discussing Durant, Sharpe shows Bayless how he compares him to LeBron while maintaining his belief that Durant is the best player in the NBA.
I need you to hold KD to the same standard that you hold Lebron to if he is the best player in the NBA, that’s all I’m asking. Is KD the best player in the NBA?
To which Skip replied, “Yes, absolutely,”
Shannon shows why Skip‘s argument is incorrect
Skip, you sound ridiculous Hold on, you talk about what a man almost did, and then you explain your reasoning by claiming that when Kevin durant went to LeBron’s house and beat him, that made him the best person on the earth. You continue to claim that Kevin durant is superior to Giannis despite the fact that Giannis did the exact same thing to Kevin durant. Giannis isn’t better than K.D. by going to his house and acting like him, but K.D. was better than LeBron by going to his house and beating him.
Skip explains in his defense, “I don’t understand for the life of me how you beat Steph curry up for losing a game with a 3-1 lead, but you let Kevin durant skate with the same 3-1 lead over the guy you said come up small yet he couldn’t. Kevin Durant scored 48 points in game seven and hit one of the greatest clutch shots in basketball history. If not for the toenail in the line, they would have won the NBA championship with him. Draymond Green and clay Thompson were teammates of Steph curry. Kevin was trapped with Westbrook. It’s that easy, period, end of the story, and once more, I’m correct.”
