With so many skills to pick from, it’s difficult to choose which ones are the best in God Of War. However, these will offer the player an early advantage.
One of the most critically regarded video games of all time is God Of War. With an incredible plot, rich and breathtaking scenery, and some very exciting combat and game mechanics, this game is a must-play. The game follows Kratos, who is slightly older than in previous versions, in his journey to teach his son how to survive in a hard and deadly world.
Many PC users will be playing it for the first time, and many will be unsure which talents to upgrade first in order to improve combat. It’s difficult to determine which talents to prioritize and how to use those hard-earned XP points, which are few in the early stages of the game. With so many options, it can be difficult to make sure that players aren’t squandering points on skills they won’t utilize. Here is our list of the Best Skills in God of War.
God of War Best Skills
Pride of the Frost
Because Pride of the Frost allows you to unleash an area-of-effect finisher following the third attack from a regular Leviathan Axe combination, it should be one of the first Skills you unlock. Try converting your combination into the Pride of the Frost for a hefty dose of crowd control if you’re ever attacking a single opponent and then a couple of its companions unexpectedly enter the fray.
Countering Strike
In an action game, a well-placed parry and counterattack against an enemy is always the most satisfying experience. It takes time to perfect, but the effort is definitely worth it. Even if you’re not particularly good at parry timing, you’ll have access to the devastating shield bash you can inflict on an enemy if you manage to pull it off by accident.
Permafrost
Permafrost is another skill that players will find themselves utilizing frequently once they’ve acquired it. It’s handy because it allows players to inflict extra damage while doing something they’re already doing. Because players don’t have to use the skill during battle, it’s ideal for those times when things become a little frantic and all the player can manage is hack and slash.
Countering Blast
Although it is one of the most expensive early-game skills, it is also one of the most beneficial. The Countering Blast, which is essentially a ranged variant of the Countering Strike Skill, allows Kratos to block and return damage from ranged strikes. This allows Kratos to quickly knock out enemies launching ranged attacks from afar, which is one of the game’s more difficult features, while still allowing Kratos to concentrate on the closer adversaries. If ranged attackers aren’t too much of an issue, the damage can be reflected in more dangerous enemies.
Executioner’s Cleave
The windup for Executioner’s Cleave is a little slow, but it’s a deadly heavy strike that’s well worth obtaining early on. It deals a lot of damage and is a great method to end a combo—as long as you have a clear window of chance to land it. But it’s the brutality of the technique that makes it so satisfying to use; Kratos literally slams his axe into the poor soul and rips through them. Perform an Executioner’s Cleave on any adversary who is on the ground, stunned, or choked by Atreus. You’ll be glad you took the time to do so.
Whirling Storm
Whirling Storm is a useful skill that can help you close the gap on enemies who are keeping their distance from you. Whirling Storm isn’t a high-damage dealer when performed from a forward dodge, but it’s a wonderful technique to start a combination due to its rapid start-up time.
Guardian Sweep
The Guardian Sweep is one of the most effective skills for finishing a fight, often before it has even begun. It is especially useful for groups of foes. Knocking back groups of enemies while stunning them at the same time allows Kratos plenty of time to finish off the smaller enemies or launch a chain attack to take out the entire group. This skill, like all others that stun adversaries, is useful for allowing players to move into a better position or take out that annoying ranged enemy.
Haymaker Crush
Haymaker Crush is an excellent melee skill that allows you to quickly close the gap on your opponent. It also gives you a guaranteed knockback on small-to-medium-sized adversaries, giving you a chance to follow up with a combo.
Block Break
When facing stronger opponents or those who don’t seem to worry about Kratos’ axe, every player should use the Block Break. When used frequently, enemies will be unable to even stand up from the ground before being blasted once more. It can be used in conjunction with a ranged attack, or Arteus can finish them off for some quick kills.
Talon Bow Expert Combat: Teamwork, Acrobatics, and Ferocity
Teamwork, Acrobatics, and Ferocity are all important skills for Atreus to learn. They all provide him the ability to help you in different ways. For example, Ferocity allows Atreus to stun incoming adversaries and combo off your launcher attack, while Acrobatics allows him to combo off your rocket attack. Make unlocking these skills a top priority, as they’re not only valuable but also cost very little XP.
