Predicted Chelsea line-up to face Wolves in the Premier League

Chelsea host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Stamford Bridge on Sunday as Maurizio Sarri looks to make it three wins on a trot in the Premier League.

The Blues are looking to keep up their bid to finish in the top four this season and will head into the weekend’s contest on the back of a 3-0 Europa League Round of 16 first-leg victory over Dynamo Kiev.

Wolves won the reverse fixture at Molineux back in December and should be aiming to complete the double over the Blues on Sunday.

Team News

Danny Drinkwater and Marco van Ginkel remain out injured for Chelsea.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Maurizio Sarri

Kepa Arizzabalaga (GK)

The Spaniard kept a clean sheet in the midweek Europa League game but will have to be at his best to reproduce the same on Sunday.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)

Azpilicueta hasn’t been at his best this season but he is the skipper for a reason and needs to put in a big performance against Wolves.

Antonio Rudiger (CB)

Rudiger has had a very good season in the Chelsea backline thus far. The German will be restored in the starting XI after sitting out the Europa League game.

Andreas Christensen (CB)

Christensen did well against Fulham and Dynamo Kiev and should start alongside Rudiger in central defence.

Emerson (LB)

Marcos Alonso started the Europa League game on Thursday, so Emerson might start against Wolves at the weekend.

N’Golo Kante (RCM)

Kante is one of Europe’s best defensive midfielders but he has been used on the right of the midfield trio by Sarri. Despite playing in a different position, the diminutive Frenchman has done really well.

Jorginho (CDM)

The Italian has had two solid games in a row and will be looking to maintain the form.

Ross Barkley (LCM)

Barkley has blown hot and cold under Sarri. Yet, the manager has shown faith in the Englishman and could start him against Wolves.

Willian (RW)

Willian scored in the 3-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv in midweek, so expect him to retain his place in the starting XI on Sunday.

Eden Hazard (LW)

Sarri didn’t have any need to call on Hazard from the bench in the midweek Europa League game. So, expect the Belgian to start on the left wing at the weekend.

Gonzalo Higuain (ST)

Higuain has been Sarri’s main man up front, so expect the Argentine to lead Chelsea’s attack against Nuno’s side.
