Last season’s finale of Gossip Girl saw Julien still struggling to cope with her father’s Me Too scandal, Kate Keller (Tavi Gevinson) striking an unlikely agreement with Gossip Girl to reveal everyone’s secrets, and Zoya trying to create her own life away from Constance It girls. Max and Audrey got involved while Monet and Luna plotted for an unsavoury takeover attempt.
All of these characters will return this time around, including Jordan Alexander as Julien, Whitney Peak as Zoya, Eli Brown as Obie, Thomas Doherty as Max, Evan Mock as Audrey, and Savannah Smith as Monet. All have recently been seen filming scenes across New York City for these episodes and sharing TikTok posts together on set.
Kristen Bell returns as Gossip Girl reboot narrator to bring us all of the gossip. Michelle Trachtenberg will return as Georgina Sparks from the original series – she is sure to add an edge of badness into this new era of the show!
At the launch of Season 1, which took place on July 8, 2021, there was much drama to untangle. Kate (Tavi Gevinson) made an unorthodox agreement with Julien; Max agreed to join Audrey and Aki as part of a trio; while Zoya received help from Obie so as to remain in New York City.
Georgina Sparks from the original Gossip Girl series made a return as one of the masterminds behind all the mayhem on the Upper East Side. Milo Sparks appears to be inheriting some of her wickedness and intelligence as well. Showrunner Joshua Safran promises this season will resemble more closely what was seen on Gossip Girl in terms of both plot and feel.
Gossip Girl was an icon that ran for six seasons on television, winning critical acclaim and garnering an ever-dedicated fan base. Now its revival has taken off like never before – becoming HBO Max’s most-watched original series after debuting its inaugural season in July 2021.
Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off, with Julien struggling with her father’s sexual assault allegations and teaming up with Gossip Girl for an alliance that’s bound to unravel; Zoya trying to distance herself from Constance It girls; Audrey Aki Max managing the complexities of their polyamorous relationship.
All of the original Gossip Girl stars should return for season two, including Jordan Alexander (Julien), Whitney Peak (Zoya), Savannah Smith (Monet), Thomas Doherty (Max), Evan Mock (Aki), Emily Alyn Lind (Audrey), Zion Moreno (Luna) and Tavi Gevinson (Kate Keller). Narrator Kristen Bell will also reprise her iconic voice role.

Season two will feature the return of Julien Alexander (Jordan Alexander), Zoya (Whitney Peak), Obie (Eli Brown), Max (Thomas Doherty), Audrey (Emily Alyn Lind) and Luna (Zion Moreno). Gossip Girl reboot premiered in July 2021 to great fanfare, updating Manhattan’s elite society for today with influencers and Net-a-Porter hauls. Season two is already promising to deliver plenty of drama from betrayals to battles for queen bee. Here is everything we know so far about its second installment.
The original series made headlines for its dramatic depiction of Upper East Side life, and this reboot does not disappoint with its intense drama and edge-of-your-seat tensions. Season one cast members including Jordan Alexander as Julien, Whitney Peak as Zoya, Eli Brown as Obie, Savannah Smith as Monet, Zion Moreno as Luna, Evan Mock as Aki, Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey, Tavi Gevinson as busybody teacher Kate Keller will all return for season two.
Josh Safran, Gossip Girl’s executive producer, promises that season 2 will take an uncharacteristically dark tone and plot, offering more betrayals at Constance Billard-St Jude private school.
Gossip Girl Season Two doesn’t make many major leaps forward, which is fine. It remains an entertaining escape when you need an alternative to scrolling your own phones and some glossy entertainment.
The show intelligently provides fan-favorite characters who weren’t front and center in season one with their moment to shine. Monet (Savannah Lee Smith) is delightful to watch; her relentless ambition for power beautifully depicted as three-dimensional chess. OG gossip girl Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) returns as well, to cause more chaos on the Upper East Side; such a character brings any series to life!
Luna, an adept fashion stylist with an uncanny talent for unearthing gossip about her peers with just a few clicks, impresses Florian enough for him to give her an assignment – styling Julia Fox for her Tribeca premiere.
Luna and Rosie are great friends; Rosie was particularly charmed by how her mom would tell stories of excess among the Forresters as if it were entertaining rather than cautionary tales. It will be interesting to see if and how these two interact this season!
Gossip Girl original cast members Jordan Alexander, Whitney Peak, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock and Savannah Lee Smith will return for season 2. Kristen Bell will also reprise her narrating duties.
