Predicted Watford XI to face Everton in the Premier League

Watford put in a spirited performance against Manchester City on Tuesday night but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Hornets from going down 2-1.

Javi Gracia’s men have lost four of their last five games in the Premier League and slipped to 11th in the standings as a result of that defeat at the hands on the Citizens.

The Hornets will face another tough test when they make the trip to Goodison Park to face Everton next week. Watford will be desperate to get their faltering campaign back on track but they will have to upset the odds to beat the Toffees next Monday.

Team News

Will Hughes took a knock against City and will be assessed ahead on the game against Everton while Daryl Janmaat will be pushing for a return. Etienne Capoue will be unavailable for selection as he continues to serve a suspension for the red card that he picked up against Leicester City.

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Javi Gracia

Predicted XI

1. Ben Foster (GK)

He made a number of world-class saves against City and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Kiko Femenia (RB)

The Spaniard put in a decent performance against a potent City attack and should start the next game.

3. Craig Cathcart (CB)

The Englishman won a number of crucial headers in the last game and has been a solid presence at the back for the Hornets this season.

4. Christian Kabasele (CB)

The Belgian made a few good interceptions in the last game and kept things reasonably tight in the heart of the defence.

5. Adam Masina (LB)

Jose Holebas had a horrible night against Manchester City so Gracia should replace him with the technically-gifted left-back from Morocco.

6. Nathaniel Chalobah (CDM)

The youngster gave the ball way too easily in the last game and he will need to put in an improved performance against Everton.

7. Gerard Deulofeu (RM)

The former Barcelona man has the ability to spark creativity and create chances in the final third and Gracia should hand him a start for this one.

8. Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM)

He had a decent game against City and will be in high spirits after scoring his first goal of the season.

9. Domingos Quina (CM)

The Portuguese U19 international showed a lot of promise coming off the bench against City and he should get a start in the next game if Will Hughes doesn’t make it to the eleven.

10. Roberton Pereyra (LM)

He looked a bit sloppy with his final pass and finishing in the last game and he will need to rise to the occasion against Everton.
