Know all about WWE NXT star Grayson Waller
Grayson Waller made his WWE debut on June 11, 2021. The Australian was brought to WWE along with Steph De Lander. He has wrestled under many nicknames such as Matty Wahlberg, 21sst Century Success Story, etc. Waller currently is trying to work his way up the ranks to the main roster. He currently fights under the NXT brand.
Who is Grayson Waller?
The real name of Grayson Waller is Matty Farrelly. He is a professional wrestler born on March 21, 1990, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Waller took his training from Robbie Eagles and Madison Eagles. He was also a High School teacher.
Waller signed by the WWE for it’s 2021 April performance center class along with several other wrestlers and coach Hideki Suzuki
Grayson Waller Career
The 31-year-old started his wrestling career in 2017 when he was 27 years old. When compared to other professional wrestlers it seemed a bit too late. But Waller has managed to do a great job in working his way up. In just four years he has managed to get to the WWE.
Waller wrestled with several other promotions as well during this time. Waller has also competed in the Australian Survivor show in 2019. He also won some titles during his time with other promotions. Waller was the FWA Heavyweight Champion, Newy Pro Middleweight Champion and also Wrestling GO! Silver Medal Championship.
Waller seemed to be impressive in other promotions and WWE showed interest in getting him to reach his potential. WWE signed him to a developmental contract in April 2021. Shortly after he was allowed to make in debut on the WWE 205.
Waller was announced to make his debut on the June 15th edition of WWE 205. He took to Twitter to also share the news where he said:
“New name, but the attitude is the same. @WWE205Live this Friday (Saturday in Aus)”
Waller marked his debut with a win over Sunil Singh. He was wrestling under the WWE 205 till the August 24th edition of NXT where he marked his NXT debut. His NXT debut however, resulted in a defeat. The match was a tag team match against Imperium where Waller and his partner Drake Maverick were defeated.
In his WWE career, Waller has managed to win 10 out of the 24 matches he has competed in.
In just four years Waller has also managed to be a part of the WWE and has continued to grow within the company. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for him. Waller will definitely do everything in his power to make it to the main roster.
