WWE has brought back the Great American Bash in 2020 and there are some incredible clash on the match card
WWE brought back the Great American Bash, possibly to counter AEW, and it has some amazing matches in store for its 2020 edition.
The Great American Bash started off during the 80s as part of the NWA. It was then transferred to WCW before WWE got hold of the rights in the early 2000s.
The last Bash was held in 2012 as a SmackDown show, and this too will not be a regular PPV. Instead, it is a two-day event across two weeks taking over the NXT slots.
The Bash features NXT stars, and this was announced just after AEW confirmed that Fyter Fest would be two-day event held in July. AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT are in a ratings war on Wednesdays and this should increase the rivalry even further.
Date and location
The two events of the Great American Bash 2020 take place on 1 July and 8 July. The matches have been split on the card, but most of the 1 July matches have been confirmed.
NXT’s home, the Full Sail University, will be home to the Bash.
Streaming and where to watch
The show could be available on the WWE Network, as most of WWE programming. This special will start at the regular times that NXT starts and feature on the same television channels that it normally comes on.
Match card – 1 July
1) Io Shirai vs Sasha Banks
2) Dakota Kai vs Mia Yim vs Candice LeRae vs Tegan Nox
Fatal Four-Way elimination match to determine the No.1 contender for Shirai’s NXT Women’s title.
3) Roderick Strong vs Dexter Lumis – Strap match
4) Rhea Ripley vs Aliyah and Robert Stone – Handicap Match
Should Ripley lose the clash, she will have to join the Robert Stone Brand.
5) Timothy Thatcher vs Oney Lorcan

The winner of this clash will hold both the NXT titles at the same time.

3) Tyler Breeze, Fandango & Drake Maverick vs Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza
4) Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott vs Johnny Gargano
Please note: Match card is subject to change and further matches will be included as and when they are announced by WWE.
