Rafael Nadal easily won his second round game but there was one scary moment for a ball girl
Spanish star Rafael Nadal made it into the third round of the Australian Open but not before leaving his mark on a ball girl.
The 33-year-old, who is looking for his second Australian Open, was up against Federico Delbonis in the second round.
Nadal won the match 6-3, 7-6, 6-1 and next faces Pablo Carreno Busta, however, there was one scary moment in the third set.
The Spaniard was 4-1 up and tried to return an effort from his rival. However, the umpire called the ball out on the serve and a ball girl stepped out from near the chair.
Nadal’s wayward return hit her straight on the head, and the Spaniard was visibly concerned after the impact.
The former champion ran out to see if the youngster was alright. He gave her a little kiss on the cheek too and offered her a headband at the end of the game as an apology.

The youngster didn’t seem too flustered after getting hit hard by the ball and was smiling during her meeting with the Spanish legend.
Twitter melts after Rafa’s reaction
The Spaniard is one of the most intense player on the Tennis circuit, but he does have a soft side too.
Nadal spoke about how “super-brave” the girl was after his win and added that getting hit wasn’t a “good moment” too.
However, he did rush out to help her and it was great seeing that she didn’t pick up a serious injury of any kind.
Many fans were quick to praise Nadal for his reaction to the incident. Some posted positive comments regarding the Spaniard while a few even had time to crack a joke or two.
She’ll forever remember this 😉.

Truly sweet and innocent. Hope we have more such nice outcomes in an age when everyone is on tenderhooks.
