Zuerlein was born on December 27, 1987 in Nebraska. He completed his early education from the Lincoln Pius X High School and graduated in 2006. In 2004 he broke the Nebraska state record for the highest number of field goals in one season.His amazing talent earned him the Nebraska All-State and All-Class honours.
