Gus Edwards Early Life and Career
Edwards was born in Liberia and immigrated to the US when he was five years old. Tottenville High School was where he went to school and played football in high school.
Between 2013 and 2016, Edwards attended the University of Miami, where he played college football, before transferring as a graduate student to Rutgers in 2017.
On May 4, 2018, Edwards agreed to terms with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. On September 1, 2018, he was released, and the following day, he was added to the practise squad. On October 13, 2018, he received a promotion to the active roster.
On March 10, 2021, the Ravens tender a second-round restricted free agent tender to Edwards. On June 7, he agreed to a two-year, $10 million contract extension with the team. Edwards tore his ACL during practise on September 9, 2021, effectively ending his season. The following day, he was placed on injured reserve.
