Halle Open 2022: Daniil Medvedev’s tournament so far
Just prior to the Halle Open, Daniil Medvedev had an almost perfect week at the Rosmalen Grass Court Championships. The Russian star reached the finals of the Dutch tournament finals but suffered a rather shock defeat against Tim Van Rijthoven 6-4,6-1. However, Medvedev began his current campaign with a solid win against David Goffin in the first round. The 26-year-old put the German to the sword winning 6-3, 6-2 and finished the match off in just over an hour to make it to the last 16.
Halle Open 2022: Ilya Ivaskha’s tournament so far
Meanwhile, Ilya Ivaskha reached the quarterfinals of the Rosmalen Open in the Netherlands before bowing out at the same stage in the Geneva Open as well. However, Ivashka faced wildcard Jan Lennard Struff in the first round of the Halle Open and was able to come up trumps against the local boy 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(5). He will now face a tough challenge in the form of Medvedev in the last 16.
