Halo finally made the jump from video game to TV series after decades of anticipation, to mixed reviews in its inaugural season. Many Halo fans remain hopeful that things will improve during season two.
Cortana, the series’ main artificial intelligence (AI), is played by Natascha McElhone – she has previously appeared on shows such as Solaris and Californication – who will appear in all nine episodes this season.

The show will present intimate personal narratives and epic 26th century battles between humans and an alien threat known as Covenant, along with iconic spacecrafts and weapons from the franchise. Paramount+, owned by Viacom, features movies and TV shows from their large library as well as original content created specifically for it. 1883 is currently airing on Paramount Plus as its first hit series starring Jeremy Renner.

After years of delays, Halo has finally come to TV screens worldwide. The popular video game franchise was brought into a television format starring Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief Spartan-117; one of the most well-known characters in the universe.
This series depicts humanity’s epic 26th-century battle against an alien threat known as the Covenant and includes both personal stories and high-octane action sequences. Natascha McElhone stars as Dr. Halsey, creator of Spartan super soldiers; Jen Taylor portrays Cortana, an advanced artificial intelligence who is vital to mankind’s survival; all are represented among others by Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey and Jen Taylor plays Cortana who plays key roles within it all.
Showtime gave Halo its series order in 2015, with Kyle Killen (Lone Star and Awake) acting as showrunner and Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) attached as director for both episodes and pilot. Later that year, however, Wyatt left and Otto Bathurst (Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders) replaced him as director. Steven Kane (The Last Ship and The Closer) then co-showrunner overseeing physical production and writing duties.
Episode 1

The promo clip provided a glimpse of Cortana and more. It showed Miranda Keyes and Master Chief surveying a Forerunner artifact alongside UNSC soldiers; Jen Taylor who portrays Cortana on-screen – her appearance differing slightly than in games due to her new surroundings according to executive producer Kiki Wolfkill – was also given more screentime.

The premiere was not without criticism, however. Many fans were outraged that the show took liberties with game canon, such as showing Master Chief’s face being revealed. Others found it boring or dissatisfying that there wasn’t more action-packed moments.
Though critics and audiences were critical, the premiere episode was met with widespread praise. Paramount+ renewed it for another season.
Halo can currently be watched in the US, Canada, Australia and Latin America via Paramount Plus; however, Indian viewers must wait until Voot Select adds it as their streaming service offers various deals that allow them to watch it free or discounted prices. Season one comprises nine episodes with run times between one hour and an hour per episode.

Paramount+’s series follows Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 as he struggles to uncover more information about his past while fighting an alien alliance known as The Covenant, played by Pablo Schreiber who also stars as John-117 from the popular video game franchise.
Natascha McElhone (Orange Is the New Black, Solaris and Californication) stars as Dr. Halsey, creator of Spartan super soldiers; while Jen Taylor (Halo games and RWBY) portrays Cortana, an advanced AI. Other cast members include Bokeem Woodbine from Fargo playing Officer John’s friend Soren-066 while Olive Gray from Half Moon Investigations plays Miranda Keyes; Charlie Murphy appears as Makee, an employee working for Covenant but with strong feelings towards her own race; and Charlie Murphy from Love/Hate Peaky Blinders as Makee.
Conclusion
HALO TV series boasts an astounding budget of $10 million per episode and delivers spectacular sci-fi visuals and otherworldly settings. Although production was briefly suspended due to the Writers Guild of America strike, production for season two is underway with multiple producers from season one returning – Steven Spielberg and Darryl Frank from Amblin Television as well as directors Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie as well as Kiki Wolfkill and Bonnie Ross from 343 Industries are executive producing.
