Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI to face Cardiff City in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur dropped valuable points in the title race as the Lilywhites went down 3-1 to Wolves at Molineux in the Premier League on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men dropped to 3rd in the standings as a result of that defeat and they will be desperate to regain the lost momentum when they face Cardiff City away from home on Tuesday.

Cardiff will be high on confidence after beating Leicester City 1-0 in their previous game and the Bluebirds are currently four points clear of the relegation zone.

Team News

Erik Lamela (calf), Jan Vertonghen (thigh), Victor Wanyama (knee), Mousa Dembele (ankle), Vincent Janssen (ankle) and Eric Dier are all ruled out while Serge Aurier is doubtful to play a part due to a groin problem.

Formation: 4-1-2-1-2

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Predicted XI

1. Hugo Lloris (GK)

The Frenchman should have done better with the goals that he conceded against Wolves but he has been the No.1 between the sticks and should continue.

2. Kieran Trippier (RB)

He struggled against Wolves and was caught out of position a few times but Pochettino should hand him another start.

3. Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian didn’t do too much wrong but was a part of a collective defensive debacle in the second half against Wolves.

4. Davinson Sanchez (CB)

He was outjumped by Boly for the equaliser in the last game and will be expected to do better on New Year day.

6. Harry Winks (CDM)

The youngster looked quite good with his passing in the previous outing but Spurs will need him to be a bit more agile and proactive.

7. Christian Eriksen (LCM)

The Danish playmaker tested the goalkeeper with a good long-range shot in the last game and has excelled in his deep role in the midfield.

8. Moussa Sissoko (RCM)

The Frenchman is going through a purple patch in recent weeks and should continue in the starting line-up against Cardiff.

9. Dele Alli (CAM)

He lacked conviction with his performance in the last game and Spurs will need him to do better on Tuesday.
