The 2022-23 NFL MVP race seems to be a close-than-ever affair. The likes of Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen are tied week after week, with one outperforming the other regularly. But for veteran sports media personality – Skip Bayless it is the Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback who has taken the edge over his competitors.
While many are claiming Patrick Mahomes to have taken the lead in the MVP race, Bayless feels Jalen Hurts has had more impact on his team and has even led his team in a better manner than Travis Kelce’s partner-in-crime.
Skip Bayless said on the latest episode of Undisputed, “Jalen Hurts has changed an entire culture. He turned the Eagles back into a winning franchise. He has done a lot more for his team than (Patrick) Mahomes has.”
Who leads the MVP race – Jalen Hurts or Patrick Mahomes?
There is no denying that Jalen Hurts has had a better impact on his team than any other Quarterback in this season. Not only did he lead his team to an 8-0 start, but his numbers were insane on a team, from which not many had major Super Bowl aspirations. Given that he’s been responsible for over 18 TouchDowns with only a handful of turnovers is remarkable.
On the other side Patrick Mahomes has played equally well but had often been inconsistent in finding open guys. Although his chemistry with TE – Travis Kelce is on point in every game, but if one thinks about it, without Kelce’s excellence, Mahomes would’ve probably struggled.
That being said, Mahomes still has been leading the charts in the 2022-23 season in various departments. It is no joke to throw for over 3,200 yards with less than 10 interceptions.
