AEW President and founder Tony Khan was all praise for Chris Jericho owing to his recent transformation at the Revolution 2022 preview episode of the AEW Unrestricted podcast.
He was asked about Jericho’s “washboard abs”, to which Khan said that the 51-year-old was in better shape than when he was AEW World Champion. Khan noted that he came back looking better than ever, and he is looking very sharp. The AEW chief even said that this is the best Chris has looked.
He had a little health scare and came back and he came back looking better than ever. I think he was out for a little bit, getting healthy and I think for Chris, like this is not only the best he’s ever looked but when we’ve seen him in the ring, he looked very sharp. I think it took him a few minutes to get his footing back against Santana and Ortiz, but you could see this is to me physically, probably the best Chris has looked. And now that he’s gotten his bearings back in the ring, I just think with Jericho looking like he does and you know, talking the way he’s been talking, this is a really interesting match.” (H/t WrestlingNews.co)
There were a lot of questions over Jericho’s health as he was hospitalised in December 2021, which forced his band Fozzy to cancel a date on their latest tour of the United Kingdom.
He returned on the AEW Dynamite 26th January episode when Santana and Ortiz faced 2point0 and Daniel Garcia. Jericho will be facing Eddie Kingston at Revolution 2022. It will be his first bout since facing MJF at AEW All Out 2021.
