Paige was managing the Kabuki Warriors but the pair attacked the former Divas champion and left her

The Kabuki Warriors picked up the WWE Women’s tag titles but turned on Paige in October 2019.

Paige, who had been out of wrestling for a while, was hit by the green mist from Asuka and that was the end of their relationship.

The Kabuki Warriors, Asuka and Kairi Sane, went on from strength to strength while Paige joined up with the WWE Backstage team.

The former Divas champion has featured on other shows too as her time on Raw came to an end.

Paige was recently asked by Inside Ropes about the break-up with the Kabuki Warriors, and the 27-year-old claimed this was Paul Heyman’s idea:

“It was like me and Paul [Heyman] kinda and Heyman came up with the idea for me to leave them. Because it was cool at first, and I loved being with them. I love Asuka and Kairi, just everything about them.

“But I had to have another neck surgery so then they were kind of sitting backstage doing nothing and I didn’t want to hold them back.”

Paige added that Heyman explained the idea of her coming back and the venom attack too, and the former star was alright with how this story went.

The former champion explained that she wanted a “Paul Heyman-Brock Lesnar vibe” with Jax. Paige would be the mouthpiece while Jax would be the muscle.

Jax has been out of action for a while due to a serious injury, but this pairing could work in the future.
