After four seasons of The Man in the High Castle, its end has finally come. Not because viewers have become tired of it or reached its apex; but rather there are simply no stories left that can keep going forward.

Based on Philip K. Dick’s alternate history novel, this show presents an alternate reality in which Axis forces won World War II and control of North America and Europe; its population being divided among Greater Nazi Reich and Japanese Pacific States while Neutral Zone serves as ground zero for anti-Nazi resistance.

Season 3 of this popular show concluded with Frank’s brutal demise – first being burned alive before having his head severed ceremoniously – as well as Juliana being beheaded at its conclusion; both events serving as closure on long-running narrative threads.

William Forsythe will join the cast of Man in the High Castle for season three as J. Edgar Hoover. At its best, The Man in the High Castle showcases an early ’60s America that exists despite Nazi oppression – Rock Hudson still graces movie screens while ambitious men drive into work wearing Nazi regalia – but not only nostalgia is present: tension too! At its core lies The Man in the High Castle’s greatest strength: making viewers understand our historical enemies through compelling drama.
