In the Honkai Star Rail guide, we’ll be sharing ten tips and tricks to help beginners get started on their Honkai Star Rail journey.
Honkai: Star Rail is a new turn-based mobile and PC game from Hoyoverse that offers an interesting and mysterious storyline, beautiful art, and new versions of familiar characters. It’s a mash-up of Hoyoverse’s popular titles, Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact, bringing together some of the best elements of both games.
The game features character advancements, weapon and equipment systems, and a riveting story, all set in turn-based combat. In this article, we will provide you Honkai Star Rail Guide that will help you get strong in this exciting game.
The Trailblaze level is a crucial aspect of Honkai: Star Rail and impacts progression throughout the game’s various modes. Therefore, it is essential to give it your full attention. Every time you level up your Trailblaze level, visit Pom-Pom on your ship to receive rewards such as stamina refills, summon skills, Light Cones, and credits. For every ten Trailblaze levels gained, you can access new Upgrade Missions that enhance your Equilibrium Level. This strengthens your foes so they drop better loot once defeated.
When you reach the endgame content, such as the Simulated Universe and Forgotten Hall, you’ll need many characters leveled up. Forgotten Hall requires two teams of four (similar to Genshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss), so you’ll need at least eight leveled-up characters, all with their own equips and light cones. Therefore, don’t go tossing away all your extra equips right away.
Stellar Jade is one of the most precious resources in Honkai and is similar to Genshin’s Primogems. It’s one of the most efficient ways for players to pull for new characters. Save this currency for limited character banners that you can’t draw. It would be best to use Stellar Jade wisely since it is challenging to acquire, especially for beginners.
Characters can be obtained in three different ways. Some are free and locked behind some of the game’s content, while others are in Limited or Standard Banners.
The Limited Banners rotate, which means characters are only available temporarily, contrary to Standard Banners. It makes them more valuable, and you’ll want to keep your Stellar Jade to pull for the characters who are of the highest priority for you. The game will suggest you convert your Stellar Jade for Standard Tickets when you first start. However, it’s not the best idea since Standard Banners are less valuable than Limited ones.
Getting a character is only the first step; afterward, you’ll have to gear them and level them up. It’ll force you to focus more on some characters than others, or they’ll be stuck on certain level gaps pretty quickly. While characters aren’t hard to level up and gear up at first, it becomes harder as this number rises.
You’ll need a lot of resources to max them up, so your best bet will be to come up with a solid team of four characters you’ll get to the highest level and then focus on the others. The levels and gear matter immensely for the character’s strength, so this aspect shouldn’t be underestimated.
Relics are another crucial aspect of Honkai: Star Rail. Some offer special effects when you complete sets. Whether working independently or as part of a set, relic types affect particular stats. Items worn on the hands boost ATK performance. Headgear improves HP. More varied effects apply to body components, including useful stats such as hit rate. Boots impact movement.
Currencies play a vital role in Honkai Star Rail. You can spend various currencies to summon characters using banners. The most common currency is crystal, which you can acquire during standard play. You can apply it to standard banners or, on rare occasions, Light Cores. It is crucial to come to terms with how currencies work in the game to avoid wasting your resources. Moreover, the game has a premium currency known as Stellar Jade.
To progress through Honkai Star Rail rapidly, focus on clearing available daily quests. Completing these quests provides you with many rewards, including resources and experience points that are essential for leveling up your characters. After clearing daily quests, continue advancing the story missions, provided your characters are ready for any related missions.
Your Trailblaze Level may prevent you from advancing if you don’t complete a good variety of activities along the way. Therefore, you should always spend available stamina, so that any lapsed time works toward refilling your supply.
Each character in Honkai Star Rail has a special ability known as a “technique,” which they can use outside of battle. These abilities may buff a character or attack enemies from afar, freezing them at the start of the battle. You can only use these abilities a few times before having to refill your technique gauge. Therefore, you should take advantage of these skills before tough battles.
Honkai Star Rail’s characters have either a four-star or five-star rarity, similar to Genshin Impact. The rarity refers to their overall strength in the game. Five-star characters have better stats and will be the main focus of your teams. This means you’ll end up building up four-star characters around those few rare characters.
It is recommended to think of five-star characters as your main priorities rather than four-star ones. However, the game is relatively balanced, which means even a team of four characters from lower rarity will allow you to complete the game’s content without too many hurdles. Your personal preference is also key to having fun in Honkai.
Most maps in Honkai Star Rail have a set number of puzzles to complete and treasure to find, which you can see in the top left corner of your map. These chests do not respawn, but they contain tons of useful loot, including premium currency (Stellar Jade). As you run around for the story, don’t be afraid to wander down the wrong corner — you’ll probably find a treasure chest waiting for you at the end of the path.
