Jose Aldo is a former UFC Featherweight champion but how did he get that huge scar?
Brazilian MMA star Jose Aldo will go down as one of the greatest in the history of the sport.
The 34-year-old has won multiple titles across promotions and is a two-time UFC Featherweight champion.
Also was the inaugural champion in the division and he also held the interim title once during his time in the UFC.
Aldo has been in some incredible fights over the years too. While most remember him getting knocked out in 13-seconds during a title defence, the fight which Conor McGregor one, the Brazilian’s legacy won’t be harmed by that.
The loss might have broken Aldo a bit but he has defeated stars such as Frankie Edgar, Chan Sung Jung, Urijah Faber, Cub Swanson and many others.
Aldo has also been on the receiving end of some brutal beat downs, such as the one he got against Petr Yan for the Bantamweight title.
He has a few marks all over his face and body but one stands out, the one around the left of his face.
Also has a huge scar on that side and many have asked how did he get that?
The Brazilian spoke about this incident a while back and explained how he got the scar. It was a fight between some of his siblings and he was just one back then.
An older sister picked up Aldo’s crib and threw it in a fight. Aldo fell face first onto a hot barbecue grill and that was how he got the scar.
However, the Brazilian doesn’t seem to have let go of the incident and even opened up on another big injury he got when he was young (h/t Daily Star):
“They were playing around and threw me in there,” Aldo said in 2009.
“It was hot. I was a little baby. They were little kids. There was another time when my little sister broke my head. I have all kinds of stories.”
Aldo certainly has shown his toughness in the Octagon and he will go down as a legend of the sport when he does retire.
