Sefa Fatu could be the latest AEW recruit
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) may be on the verge of recruiting Joseph Fatu, better known by his wrestling moniker ‘Sefa Fatu’.
Born in 1993, Sefa Fatu is the youngest son of legendary wrestler Rikishi and is the brother of Joshua Samuel Fatu and Jonathan Solofa Fatu, who are popularly known as ‘The Usos‘ on WWE.
He belongs to the famous Anoa’i wrestling family which has produced countless wrestlers and iconic tag team partners.
That, of course, makes him the cousin of the legendary Dwayne Johnson, A.K.A ‘The Rock‘, and current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Sefa started his wrestling career in 2018 at his father’s KnokX Pro Wrestling promotion in California. Since then, he has fought with various independent wrestling promotions, including Game Changer Wrestling (GCW).
Wrestling is actually not something that Sefa chose as his priority. He wanted to play football and was a prominent linebacker at the Dickinson State University (DSU).
Earlier this week, the 27-year-old dropped a bombshell on his social media account. The younger brother of the WWE tag team pair ‘The Usos’ shared a photo on his Twitter account with the AEW logo.
AEW fans would instantly recognize that wall in the background. He also tagged the official AEW account and has hinted with the photo that he may well join the promotion soon.
The news is far from official at this stage, but the fact that AEW invited ‘ The Problem’ (as Sefa is called) to their building has certainly got the wrestling world talking, including Cody Rhodes.
AEW adding a member of the respected Samoan family would be huge for the promotion. This is one space that we’ll be closely watching and updating on our website, so stay tuned.
