Tony Ferguson is one of the toughest MMA fighters out there but how many times has he been knocked out?
Tony Ferguson might be one of the biggest names in UFC to have not won the undisputed title. El Cucuy, as he is known, has fought in 33 fights so far, and had an impressive record coming into his clash against Michael Chandler at UFC 274.
Ferguson, in his entire career, had never been knocked out. He did have one TKO to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249, but that is still not a clean knockout as the fight was stopped in the fifth round.
However, that record has now been broken as Ferguson was taken to the shadow realm at UFC 274.
How many times has Tony Ferguson been knocked out?
El Cucuy has been knocked out just once in his career, and that came at UFC 274. He was up against Chandler, and the former Bellator Champion produced one of the greatest KOs in UFC history.
A front kick to the face knocked Ferguson out cold, and there were a lot of celebrations from Chandler’s end.
However, there was a lot of concern too as Ferguson was motionless for a while. Fortunately, the former interim Lightweight Champion got up and was able to stand on his own as the results were announced.
This was another brutal loss for Ferguson. El Cucuy was 25-3 at one stage of his career. However, he has now lost his last four fights, and all of them have been disasters for him.
It will be interesting to see if Ferguson can bounce back from this. Losing four on the trot often leads to a release from the UFC. However, Ferguson might get one more shot at glory before his time ends at the UFC.
