Former WWE star Steve Borden, aka, Sting is a name familiar to all the wrestling fans around the globe but Ever wondered how old Sting actually is?
Steve Borden, popularly known as Sting, was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on March 20, 1959. This results in Sting being 62 years old and a legend of professional wrestling, with over 40 years of industry experience, and winning most of the major championship titles.
He made his wrestling debut in 1985 at a very young age and was associated with JCP and WCW from 1987 till 2001. Borden made his Total Nonstop Action Wrestling debut on June 18, 2003, and spent over 11 years there till 2014.
Sting finally was linked with WWE from 2014-2016 and then joined AEW in 2020.
Sting is quite a popular figure in the wrestling universe. He is a former bodybuilder and is currently signed to AEW.
Sting is regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers since his legacy has been around the corner for the last 5 decades. He is a fourteen-time world champion, having competed in significant wrestling promotions like AEW, WCW, NWA, TNA, UWF, and WWE.
Borden started his wrestling career by the name Flash with The Ultimate Warrior in the All California Championship Wrestling. He is one of the prominent faces of two American wrestling promotions, mainly with WCW, later bought by WWF and Total Nonstop Action.
Steve has a 14 year-long journey with WCW, which started in 1987. He was regarded as the counter to WWF’s Hulk Hogan. Steve has the most pay-per-view appearances than any other wrestler in WCW. Sting also headlined the highest-grossing PPV event in WCW history against legendary Hulk Hogan at Starrcade in December 1997.
Borden held 14 championship titles in WCW, including six-time WCW World Heavyweight Championship, two-time WCW International World Heavyweight Championship, and one-time NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
Sting didn’t join WWF (now WWE) after WWE bought WCW. Rather than that, he toured internationally with World Wrestling All-stars and won a championship there.
Steve ended up in TNA, where he continued his legacy for another 11 years. He won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship four times, making him the only wrestler to have won NWA, WCW, and TNA World titles in a single career.
Sting finally arrived on the WWE scene in 2014, making his first appearance in Survivor Series PPV and playing his debut match at WrestleMania 31. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2016 and became only the second performer after Ric Flair in the Hall of Fame while still an active player.
Sting came out of retirement and signed with AEW and played his first match in over 5 years at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view with Darby Allin in a tag team match they won.
