Do you want to know how to beat Sweetheart in Omori? Our guide below has some of the best tips and tricks for this boss fight.
As a leading villain in the game, Sweetheart repeatedly causes trouble for Omori and his friends during most segments of Headspace. Sweetheart is a vain narcissist who always brags about her appearance and demeanor. Since the majority of her vast fan base is comprised of Sprout Moles, her vanity is constantly fueled by their constant attention.
As soon as she breaks up with Space Boyfriend, she becomes intrigued by the idea of true love and makes havoc in pursuit of it. She’s very dramatic and enjoys theatrics, following her every impulse and creating drama for no apparent reason.
Sweetheart, one of Purefly Forest’s main bosses and one of the game’s most recognizable villains, is connected to the majority of the issues Omori and his friends have in the Headspace that isn’t directly related to anything. So how to beat Sweetheart in Omori? Read our guide below that has the best tips and tricks for this fight.
How to beat Sweetheart in Omori
Like her ex-boyfriend, Sweetheart exploits the Emotions system to her fullest extent. At 80% HP, she can become permanently HAPPY, which escalates to ECSTATIC at 50% and 30% HP respectively, resulting in MANIC at 50% and 30% HP. Space ex-boyfriend may not have taught you to constantly exploit AUBREY’s ANGRY HEADBUTTS, but Sweetheart will.
Unlike Space ex-boyfriend, Sweetheart has no wasteful actions and is able to hit multiple party members at once. While HAPPINESS increases her speed and crit rate, her own hit rate is enough to offset its apparent disadvantages. This can get problematic if she’s critting your party members before even Kel can move or heal them.
Stock up on poetry books
You can gain an emotional advantage against her by stocking up on POETRY BOOKS in the shops since Omori is your only source of Sadness. Having one or the other is essential in this fight because her signature laugh is one of her most damaging attacks. This can make everyone Angry and put them at a disadvantage during the battle.
Counter her Sharp Insult
It is possible for your whole party to go from 100% to toast if she follows this up with a mace swing with a skyrocketing crit rate. You can also receive two Rain Clouds at this point, one from the Junkyard and the other from defeating King Carnivore after rendering it Sad. By using this mass Sadness inducer, her Sharp Insult will be completely countered.
Use your debuffs
It’s time to get the most out of your debuffs. Using Hero’s Smile skill reduces her damage to the point where even her critical hits can be handled. Using Obori’s Trick skill enables you to counteract her fast movement, leveling the playing field so you can react before she does. With Aubrey’s Mood Wrecker attack, you will deal extra damage to happy enemies throughout the fight, which is a risk-free way to deal damage.
Use juice-restoring items
If you keep the party Sad, you should not be afraid to use up Juice-restoring items to keep them fresh. You can build up enough energy to unleash your all-out attacks to end the fight faster if she lays out enough area attacks, which is likely since two of her attacks hit the entire party.
Use Painful Truth
Omori using Painful Truth to turn himself Sad while still doing damage to Sweetheart without converting her Sad is a strong approach for this battle. Keep in mind that this only applies once Sweetheart has achieved permanent happiness; prior to this, she will continue to experience Sadness if confronted with the painful truth.
What should you use?
Kel can make the other friends sad by using Rain Clouds or Poetry Books. As Sweetheart’s best attacks are party-hitting, Aubrey’s Counter isn’t optimal here. Instead, use Power Hit and Mood Wrecker to break down her defenses, and Hero’s Cook and Snack Time for healing.
You can make Kel as a tank
Alternatively, Kel could be a tank, using Can’t Catch Me to further debuff Sweetheart’s accuracy. Kel could use Juice Me for party members to replenish their Juice, which would rapidly deplete as they likely are sad.
Omori should be the damage dealer
Omori needs to be the main damage dealer, frequently hitting Sweetheart with Stab or Hack Away. When Sweetheart makes everyone angry, repeat the process by having Omori use Painful Truth, have Kel start causing them to be Sad with items, and Aubrey use Team Spirit, which turns both her and a friend happy.
Remember that you will not gain an emotional advantage against Sweetheart with this action, but if you do not have a Rain Cloud, you can remove Angry from two characters and become neutral against Sweetheart right away. By doing all this, Sweetheart will be easily defeated.
So this is how to beat Sweetheart in Omori. Follow the tips and tricks carefully and you will beat this boss easily in no time.
