The entire quest takes place in and around Korok Forest. You have to defeat some bosses and a dragon as well. You can find the dragon near Great Sky Island, Gerudo, and Central Hyrule regions. You have to interact with Mineru before starting the quest. Get the Secret Stone of Spirit at the Spirit Temple. This challenge is a part of the Guidance from Ages Past quest. After getting done with these, you have to travel to Korok Grove. The grove is closer towards the Great Hyrule Forest. Next, you have to activate Rikonasum Lightroot from underground locations.

Next, you have to reach Deku Tree Chasm. You have to complete a couple of boss fights. Here, you must beat Phantom Ganon and its five Gloom Hands. Use weapons and shields, take on the mighty boss, and kill it. Then, you also need to cleanse the Deku Tree as well.

Phantom Ganon keeps releasing more Gloom Hands. You have to shoot them with arrows or use Bomb Flowers. Once all Gloom Hands are killed, the Phantom Ganon boss will spawn again. Use long ranged Spears or Swords to tussle against Phantom Ganon. Then you have to get back to another shrine.

Go back to Korok Forest and clear other levels. Kill all enemies and Gloom Hands. Then, you can reach Great Sky Island and defeat the White Light Dragon. Once the dragon is defeated, you can get back to Korok Grove and clear other mobs. Reach the Musanokir Shrine and ascend through the surface again. Complete remaining quests that will take you closer to equipping the master sword.

After clearing all levels and completing all objectives, you can interact with the Great Deku Tree again. You can also find the location of the Master Sword from the tree after approaching it closer.
