If you are finding it very hard to beat Pokemon Volo and Giratina in Pokemon Legends: Arceus then you are at the right place.

In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the boss fights can be quite tough and challenging. But none of them is as nerve-wracking as facing Volo and Giratina. The inspiration for adding this team was based on the fabled battle with Cynthia in Pokemon Platinum. The match was one of the most difficult in the franchise’s history.

While it might seem extremely tough and difficult to defeat Volo and Giratina, having the right team makes the work even easier, and have your way up to success. In this article, we will be outlining the best ways in which you can beat Pokemon Volo and Giratina.

Pokemon Volo and Giratina team

Before building your team against Volo and Giratina, you must know more about Volo’s team. Volo’s Pokemon are all at Level 68. You’ll want all your Pokemon to be at levels that can compete with that challenge. Pokemon Legends: Arceus contains many references to Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, all of which are linked to the Hisuian region.

In Pokemon Platinum, Cynthia’s team consisted of Spiritomb, Garchomp, Togekiss, Roserade, and Lucario, and Volo is bringing these five Pokemon to battle. Hisuian Arcanine takes the last spot on his team. Upon defeating them, you will immediately be faced with a Level 70 Giratina that must be beaten twice. Below are the details of the Pokemon including their types, weaknesses, and movesets.

Even though Giratina changes into its Origin Forme after being defeated for the first time, it doesn’t behave much differently from the first encounter. Giratina will remain the same type, move set, and weaknesses, but its attack and defense stats will be slightly lower in the Origin Forme.

Best Team to Fight Against Volo and Giratina

To fight against Volo, your Pokemon need to be at least Level 68 and have moves that can reliably give one-shot to a few of Volo’s Pokemon. However, the main challenge is to stand up to Giratina. You can pick a team consisting of Cresselia, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, and Regigigas. Cresselia is useful against Spiritomb and Roserade while Heatran can be lethal against Togekiss, Hisuain Arcanine, Roserade, and Lucario.

Finally, Diagla or Plakia will be best against Garchomp. If you choose Fairy-type Pokemons such as Alolan Ninetals, Clefable, and Sylveon, they can come in handy as well.

Creselia is useful against Giratina with the Fairy-type Moonblast attack and is super effective to fight the Pokemon. Heatran’s Dark-type Crunch move can be useful as well. Both Diagla and Palkia can use their Dragon-type attacks during the battle with Giratin to beat the Pokemon.

Tips to Defeat Pokemon Volo and Giratina

Once you’ve gathered your team, you’ll need to prepare them for their final battle against Volo and the near-invincible Giratina. Boost all six of your Pokemon’s Effort Levels by using as many Grit items as possible before the fight. When they face Volo, this can make a significant difference.

For the battle, you’ll need a good supply of items, especially Max Revives. You can either craft these or purchase them, but you’ll want as many as possible. It is often better to fire an extra move before being knocked out rather than healing with an item only to have your health quickly depleted.

Once you have used all of Volo’s six Pokemon, you should spend several turns using Max Revives to get your team as close to full strength as possible before finishing him. Since you will not have time to heal before each battle with Giratina, finishing Volo when you only have one Pokemon left can be disastrous.
