Blizzard has rolled out new items for Overwatch 2 avatars that players can have access to by playing the limited-time event. This new winter event has added new challenges for the players as they compete in the game. As the holiday season is near Winter Wonderland is conducted for Overwatch players every year towards the end of the year. Let’s see what this year’s event holds ahead for the players to enjoy.
Caught A Cold In Winter Wonderland
One of these challenges includes an interesting event that is catching snowballs in Winter Wonderland 2022. This challenge comes with a limited-time game mode within which the players must collect six snowballs. You may wonder how is this possible to do, don’t worry we got you covered.
The challenge is named Caught a cold where players are required to collect a total of six balls within the time frame in a snowball deathmatch. Now let’s see how to win the challenge in a snowball death match.
How To Collect Snowballs In Overwatch 2 Snowball Deathmatch?
To win the Caught a Cold challenge in Overwatch 2’s Winter Wonderland 2022, players must gather all six snowballs in the allotted time. This is played in the Snowball Deathmatch game style, which pits eight players against each other. Here is the trick to catch the snowballs smoothly.
- Be alert about who is throwing the snowball at you and from where.
- As soon as the snowball is close to you defend yourself using the melee key. The shortcut to the melee key is “V” on your keyboard
- If your timing is right your character will catch the snowball and help you defend from getting hit.
Players are required to repeat the same process six times to win the challenge and unlock a new challenge. Upon completing the caught a Cold, Abominable, and Block of Ice challenge players will receive special awards like the Junker Queen Ornament spray and 1,500 Battle Pass XP. This will help you unlock the special Ice Queen Brigitte skin.
Players can also have fun playing in the casual game mode which has been introduced along with various new challenges. The Snowball Deathmatch has been exclusively introduced as a holiday special to let the players experience the essence of throwing snowballs at each other virtually.
Overwatch Christmas Events
The traditional game mode of Christmas has been there in Overwatch titles for quite a while now. Players can now explore the Arcade and Winter Brawls to play the Overwatch 2 Snowball Deathmatch. A new gameplay has been added to the Christmas event this year which is Ecopoint: Antarctica and Black Forest maps. In total, the players should have 15 kills in their record to win this challenge.
Winter Skins
Ice Queen Brigitte’s skin is one of the most prestigious skin outfits in this year’s event. In order to achieve it players will have to complete several challenges in this year’s winter event. Completing any of the six events would let the players gain limited-time skins until this season ends. Some of these tasks have the bonus of awarding unique rewards to each player who completes them.
After completing particular tasks in Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland, you will get access to various ornaments for Kiriko, Ramattra, and Soujourn. Overwatch 2’s Winter Wonderland 2022, will come to an end on January 4th of 2023. Players have enough time on their hands to get access to exclusive rewards valid up to this holiday season.
