Once you find Shadowheart in Nautiloid, you can help her and recruit into your team. The task is not done yet as Shadowheart needs to reach Baldur’s Gate and you have to help and fulfil her missions. You can acquire the quest in act one. Shadowheart, the Half-Elf tasks you with plenty of tasks. Here’s how you can help her and complete her companion quest, Daughter of Darkness.
Act 1 Walkthrough
Shadowheart is a follower of Shar. She’s been a worshipper of Shars for many years. Travel to Grymforge in the Underdark. Here, you have to defeat some enemies. Shadowheart wishes to become a Dark Justiciar. You have to listen to her conversations and select choices. You can continue to travel with her. The next act starts in Shadow-Cursed lands.
Act 2 Walkthrough
In act 2, the Chosen of Shar gets unlocked. Explore the cursed lands and know the remaining objectives. Your next location is Gauntlet of Shar. You can reach from Reithwin Graveyard that’s located in Grand Mausoleum. Your first task here is to save Halsin from the Goblin Camps.
As per the suggestions of Halsin, you have to travel to Moonrise Towers. Complete the persuasion checks and reach the location. In between, you have to beat Polma, the Bodyguard for the Priestess.
Shadowheart will suggest you investigate further to discover more secrets. Next you will reach a platform. From here, you can proceed towards the right and reach the secret location. You have to complete some trials and align discs on floors to reach the Underdark main locations.
At the end, you have to save Nightsong and recruit her to your party before entering the final part of this quest. There will be many choices to choose from. You have to select the options that will save both Nightsong and Shadowheart.
Act 3
The final part, Daughter of Darkness quest can be started in the Lower City area zone. You have to reach the House of Grief that’s located northwest of Lower City. Again, there will be two options where you have to either kill Nightsong or save her. If you decide to save the NPC, you have to counter the Mother Superior of Lady Shar to progress in the game. Once you defeat the Mother Superior, there will be a shocking and massive revelation.
Damn Aylin makes a surprising reveal that Shadowheart was not actually saved by the Sharrans and she was indeed abducted by them. Furthermore it’s known that her parents are still alive and affected by the curse of Shars.
You have to progress further by defeating Ketheric Thorm and this will ensure Shadowheart reaches Baldur’s Gate 3 without any trouble. Shadowheart has to unlock the Chamber of Loss to meet her parents. Here, you will also meet two prisoners and clear them to progress further.
Again, there’s a final challenge for Shadowheart against some monsters. Clearing this final battle will rescue Shadowheart’s parents. Also, with this you will complete the quest. Shadowheart will become the new head of the Church of Shar after liberating the entire Sharrans dark forces.
