Asharak is often seen on the ground teaching his young Tieflings in Druid Grove. But he changes his location frequently and this makes it hard to find him. Asharak can be spotted near Emerald Grove in the first act. You can meet him near the Emerald Grove where he will be seen along with his junior Tieflings. The only way to open the chest is to go in group and divert him for a while. Your party member has to initiate an interaction and while doing so, you can distract him and other characters can go into stealth mode and open the mysterious chest.
The chest will unlock rare resources and experience points. If you are lucky enough, there will be some gold as well. That’s how you can deceive the teacher, Asharak, and unlock the chest in his location. Asharak doesn’t provide any help and he’s only an NPC in early stages of the game.
Many NPCs of Baldur’s Gate 3 will turn as companions in some chapters. There’s no clarity on whether Asharak will be a companion or he will continue to remain as a Tiefling Teacher throughout the game.
