 Now, you must go towards the right side and unlock the Umbral entrance. Soulflay enemies inside and find the key that unlocks the prison cell inside the cage. Blacksmith and other hostages are all trapped inside the prison.

You have to defeat enemies and some dogs. Dogs are more dangerous, so slay them and free the Blacksmith and other hostages. Once you free Gerlinde, you can meet her again at the Skyrest Bridge. Now, Gerlinde offers to help you every time. You can easily upgrade weapons by spending some Vigors and Umbral Scouring along with other quest items.
