Want to know how to get the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Autobuild ability? The process is a bit long so read till the end.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a popular action-adventure video game, and like any other video game, it requires a player to master various skills to progress through the game. One of the skills in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that has been a bit of a mystery for some players is the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Autobuild ability. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Autobuild, including what it is, what it does, and how to get it.
Autobuild is the fifth and final ability of Link’s new arm in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Represented by three purple hands on the ability wheel, Autobuild allows players to rebuild previous Ultrahand builds automatically, as long as the materials are in front of them. With Autobuild, you can save time and effort by reusing previous builds instead of manually rebuilding them each time.
To use Autobuild, press the ‘L’ button on your controller, and you’ll get a list of previous builds you’ve created before. Select the build you want to reuse, and a large purple circle will appear in front of you. Highlight the materials you need with the circle, and the system will automatically rebuild the structure for you.
Despite being an arm power, Link actually has to go a little out of his way to get this upgrade. To unlock Autobuild, players need to complete the main quest “Camera Work in the Depths,” which is part of the story of the game. This quest unlocks the Camera function of the Purah Pad, but it also puts you on the path to the quest that gets you Autobuild.
Once you’ve got the Paraglider from Lookout Landing, speak to Josha, Purah’s new assistant. He is in the building underneath Purah’s lab. Then you can start the Camera Work in the Depths quest. Follow the questline, and you’ll eventually come across the quest “Robbie’s Research,” which will give you the Autobuild upgrade.
To initiate the quest, you need to talk to Josha, who is located under Purah’s lab. She will have a red exclamation mark above her head, which indicates that she has a quest for you. Talk to her to start the quest. Josha wants to investigate the Depths, the new underground realm of Hyrule, but Robbie is concerned about her doing that, so he offers to go and wants Link to come along to test out the Purah Pad’s camera function.
To access the Depths, you want to go to Hyrule Field Chasm, a large chasm that is south of Lookout Landing. The chasm is right next to Jionsin Shrine, so you can just fast-travel there if you’ve already cleared the Shrine. The coordinates are roughly -0253, -0300, 0018. But, as you should have unlocked the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, you can also see it on the map as a large black and red blob. Dive down the chasm to enter the Depths.
Once you are in the Depths, if you turn to the south, you’ll spot something that looks like a giant tree bud with roots. This is a Lightroot, a fast travel point in the Depths. Activate it to unlock the Nisoij Lightroot.
From Nisoij, you want to head to coordinates -0776, -0434, -0470, which is where Robbie roughly is. If you’re struggling, you can light the way by throwing Lightbloom Seeds at the ground to light up the path. You’ll know you’re on the right track as you’ll be heading towards a second Lightroot, the Iayusus Lightroot.
Once you’ve reached Robbie, he wants you to take a picture of the large statue right by the Lightroot. Oblige, and then talk to him afterwards to show him the photo. Once that’s done, return to Lookout Landing and talk to Josha to complete the quest.
After some time has passed, Josha will eventually have a second request related to the depths — A Mystery in the Depths. We’re not sure what the trigger is for this to appear yet, and we got the prompt fairly late in the game, but we’ll let you know as soon as we figure it out.
The quest begins by talking to Josha, who is studying a stone slab with mysterious figures. She asks you to investigate whether these figures are related to the statues in the depths. Before you embark on this quest, make sure to bring lots of Lightbloom Seeds or glowing elixirs. You will need them to light up the way in the dark mine.
Warp to the Iayusus Lightroot and start by following the first statue’s gaze, which is facing south east. Every time you get to a statue, check which way it’s facing and follow that direction until you reach another statue, then check again. If you’re going the correct way, you should eventually pass through the Grove of Time. Your final destination is the Great Abandoned Central Mine, around coordinates -0678, -1611, -0512.
Once you reach the mine, head inside and try to rebuild the vehicle. Two researchers will ask for your help in rebuilding their vehicles. Activate the Construct, which will then give you Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Autobuild. Use it to rebuild both vehicles and then you’ll be challenged by a returning foe from Breath of the Wild.
There are spoilers that is why we won’t spoil who this boss is right now. However, it’s a relatively easy fight against the enemy, who is riding a rather dangerous vehicle. All you need to do is knock them off of the vehicle with your archery skills (or some bombs), attack them, rinse, and repeat. Do this and you’ll activate a brand new Side Adventure.
Once you’ve defeated the boss, return to Lookout Landing, speak to Josha, and use Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Autobuild to fix up the hot air balloon outside. And that’s that. You’ll get a Large Zonaite as a reward.
