• Karlach – A mighty warrior from the tiefling race, karlach is a skilful player from barbarian class. She’s located in The Risen Road, Blighted Village. Complete her questline, Hunt the Devil, and add Karlach to your squad. Karlach possesses strength and dexterity. She can be an excellent addition to your party.
• Wyll – To find and meet Wyll, you have to defeat the Goblin Raiding party in the Druid Grove. Once done, you can interact with Wyll in the training zone. Wyll reveals he’s a tadpole and you can add him to your roster after completing The Blade of Frontiers quest.
• Minthara – She’s located at Shattered Sanctum, Goblin Camp. Complete the questline, Raid the Grove and add her to your squad. • Jaheira – You can find Jaheira as an NPC in act 2 at the Last Light Inn. Jaheira will be an NPC first and you have to help her and ask her to join your party for a battle in Moonrise Towers. This will help you recruit her to your team.
• Minsc – Minsc is a human ranger and he will be available from Act 3 as Stone Lord. Aid the Underduke questline has to be completed first and then you can aid him during combat. This will add Minsc to your party.
• Astarion – Astarion is a Rogue, High Elf and Humanoid who you can meet in chapter. Astarion is seen southwest of the Ravaged Beach in act 1. While Astarion seeks your help, you can help him complete his objectives and also complete his questline, The Pale Elf. Also, he will ask you to defeat the brain monsters and when you agree, this will become a trap as he will use a Dagger to threaten you. But you have to remain silent and this will do good and you can recruit Astarion to your party. You can also romance Astarion.
• Lae’Zel – The Githyanki fighter has learnt martial arts and can be a gamechanger. Lae’Zel is a powerful tank and deals heavy damage. She’s the first companion who you can spot in Nautiloid during the first playthrough, Prologue. After assisting you, she will join your party later from the Ravaged Beach. You have to free her from prison in Cathedral Ruins and later she joins your squad. Completing the quest Githyanki Warrior will permanently add her to your squad.
• Shadowheart – Shadowheart is the best supporting companion in Baldur’s Gate 3 right now. She’s a High-Elf Humanoid and a tricky domain cleric. You have to free her in Dank Crypt, Ravaged Beach and make her join your lobby.
• Gale – Gale is an offensive player and he’s seen at Ravaged Beach near the Roadside Cliffs waypoint in Act 1 of BG3. You have to save him at the waypoint and this will add him to your party.
• Halsin – Halsin is a Wood Elf and a druid class hero. Reach Druid Grove to find Halsin and then proceed to find him near the Worg Pens at  Shattered Sanctum , Goblin Camp. Save the refugees questline has to be completed and you also have to defeat three of the goblin leaders to add Halsin to your clan

Managing Party Members in Baldur’s Gate 3 

The real task awaits once you unlock these companions. A party can recruit upto 4 members. Also, you can’t add members of the same types as this doesn’t work for battles of BG 3. You can always switch your companions through the Respec from camps. Also, you can rest at the campsite and then switch between party members from your inventory.

You can simply select the camp tab option from your map and allow companions to rest over there. You can also directly go to the campsites and change your party composition based on your troops.
