Hugo Nys Career
Hugo Nys is an active tennis player, with a professional career spanning more than a decade. He is a specialist doubles player and has hardly played singles on the ATP tour. Nys has never won a Grand Slam title but notably finished runners-up at the 2023 Australian Open.
The French-born Monaco star has won four ATP doubles titles in his professional career till date. The 32-year-old is a regular on the ATP tour and is one of the most experienced doubles players in the men’s circuit.
Nys made his professional debut way back in 2011 but it wasn’t until 2019 that he really made a mark on the ATP tour. The Monaco player won his maiden ATP doubles title at the 2019 Los Cabos Open, partnering Romain Arneodo. It was in 2021 that Nys won two ATP doubles titles – the Estoril Open and the Lyon Open, both partnering with Tim Pütz. Nys won his fourth ATP doubles title in 2022 at the Moselle Open, partnering Jan Zielinski. It was the same year that the Zielinski-Nys partnership was formed and it has been very successful till date. The duo created history by reaching the final of the 2023 Australian Open and Nys became the first ever Monegasque player to reach the semifinal and final of a Major. Nys is currently ranked World No.20 in the ATP doubles rankings and he continues to flourish with Jan Zielinski on the professional circuit.
