Hugo Savinovich blasts WWE for releasing veteran Carlos Cabrera

WWE released Spanish commentator Carlos Cabrera after nearly 29 years

Former WWE commentator Hugo Savinovich took a shot at his former employers regarding the treatment of Spanish commentator Carlos Cabrera.

Cabrera had been part of WWE since 1993 and featured in most of their big pay-per-views. The Spanish commentator spent nearly 30 years with the company and this cut came as a bit of a shock to many in the industry.

Savinovich, who was with WWE till 2011, was part of the Spanish commentary team and worked with Cabrera.

The Ecuadorian was speaking to Sportskeeda (h/t Ewrestling News) and blasted his former employers over this latest cut.

Each company has a right to decide what to do, that happened to me. But oh my goodness, at least they were leaving Carlos Cabrera when I left. But here, there’s no Hugo, there’s no Carlos. It’s horrible.”

Another big cut in WWE

WWE is not averse to making big cuts but some of their releases has come as a bit of a surprise. They released veteran musician Jim Johnston a few years back, and that came as a shock to many.

Johnston created some of the most iconic WWE entrance themes over the past few decades. However, WWE still found a way to replace him.

WWE has also cut many top wrestling stars in recent years and there are some rumours about Vince McMahon possibly selling the promotion for a huge sum.

All these cuts ensure that WWE stays profitable and their roster is now wafer thin at the moment. It will be interesting to see who is next to get the cut in WWE.

They have also apparently released Shane McMahon after his appearance at the 2022 Royal Rumble. WWE also had cut catering on their Raw and SmackDown shows. The product, however, isn’t as good as it was in the past, especially with AEW putting on a more adult oriented show.
