UFC 248 saw a brilliant fight between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang Weili with the former picking up a nasty forehead injury.
Jedrzejczyk’s forehead was swollen to twice it’s size as she battled on in the championship clash. The match between the pair will go down as one of the greatest in MMA history, however, her injuries were a bit brutal.
Jedrzejczyk earlier claimed she wasn’t injured seriously and posted another update on social media.
The 32-year-old’s face still carried a lot of bruising and some sections of her body were black and blue.
However, this was also due to some “homemade spa” treatment she was undergoing.
“I am having a small home spa. Of course, I am having so many bruises on my face, on my chest, swelling went down. But I am feeling better.”
The UFC star added that she was in Poland at the moment and wanted people to stay safe, possibly regarding the coronavirus outbreak that has engulfed the entire world.
Zhang defended her title in the first meeting between the pair, and is currently planning to take a break.
However, the Chinese Strawweight champion is open to a rematch against Jedrzejczyk.
The Pole has spoken about facing the Chinese champion once she recovers from her injuries, and that could be another blockbuster event.
UFC 248 saw possibly the greatest women’s bout in the history of the UFC and both women now have a lot of respect for each other.
However, all current UFC fights are being held being closed doors with no fans. The UFC is one of the few sports competitions not to suspend its operations and hopefully, all their stars and officials stay safe.
