Max Verstappen was speaking to Sky Sports and highlighted his plans for the 2020 F1 season

Red Bull racer Max Verstappen has revealed the exact time when he starts thinking of training for the new F1 season.

Formula One is back and the first race in Australia is just over a month away.

Verstappen, and the other racers, have to get back to their best shape ahead of testing too, and the Dutch racer was asked what his plans were during the winter break.

Verstappen provided a low-key response and also claimed that he had to take care of some commitments during his time away from the circuit:

“I didn’t want to travel too much, so I stayed most of the time at home and then pretty much.”

The Dutch racer added that it was nice to get the break but he would then start thinking about getting into shape during Christmas:

“It’s nice to have those two-three weeks off but at one point, you also, especially after Christmas when you are eating so much, I won’t be so full, you’re like, ‘OK, I need to get started again.’”

Verstappen is one of the top racers in the circuit and needs to be at his best if he is to beat Lewis Hamilton to the driver’s crown.

The Dutch racer finished third last year behind the Mercedes pair, and he plans to give Hamilton a real fight.

Lewis isn’t God

Verstappen recently claimed that putting Hamilton under pressure could see him crack, something that didn’t happen regularly last year.

The Dutch racer also claimed that Hamilton isn’t “God” when it comes to racing, and believed that being within two-tenths of Mercedes at the start of the season could put them under immense pressure later on.

Verstappen has shared several workout videos in recent weeks as he gears up for the new F1 season.
