Why should Watford sign Divock Origi on loan from Liverpool
Watford finished their 2017-18 premier league campaign placed 14th and the Londoners will certainly look to improve on that this season. Javi Gracia was given the responsibility to steady the Watford ship in January after Marco Silva was sacked.
Although the Spaniard managed to steady things for Watford, he would be expected to help the Hornets to a top-half finish this season. If Gracia is to achieve that target, he would need to do very well from the touchline and in the transfer market as well.
Just over a week left for the English transfer window to close, here’s why Watford must move quickly to secure the loan signing of Divock Origi, especially after the sale of Richarlison.
A player with similarities to Richarlison
Watford have lost their talisman in the form of Richarlison, who has joined his former boss Marco Silva at Everton. Losing a player of that quality creates a big void and they should sign a quality player to fill it.
Liverpool‘s Divock Origi is not the ideal replacement with respect to Richarlison’s quality but Origi is quick and is an adept dribbler of the ball, much like the Brazilian winger.
Apart from their technical traits, both Origi and Richarlison are young and direct in their approach. Thus, Watford would do well to add Origi to their team and replace Richarlison with a capable player.
A quality player available in the unusual market
The English market has changed significantly due to the early closure of the transfer window, as teams are hesitant to put their players for sale without securing replacements. Thereby, there is a lack of quality players available in the market in the summer and Origi is one of the few who is available on the market for £27m. (Source: LiverpoolEcho)
The Belgian, who spent last season on loan at Wolfsburg, should be heading out this summer as Liverpool are stocked with quality attacking players.

To make the most out of the situation, Watford should seek to get the attacker on loan to bolster their team without spending a fortune. The Hornets have the funds from the Richarlison sale and if they can get Origi on a loan deal, they can spend the rest of the money in securing other reinforcements.
