Swiatek began her junior tennis journey by competing in ITF Junior Circuit events in 2015 and she went on to win back-to-back low-level Grade 4 titles in April and May at the age of 13. She continued playing on the ITF Circuit events and won all 7 finals that she made it to until 2018.
The young Pole continued to develop her game over time and in 2019, despite never playing in the WTA Tour, she was able to complete was able to compete in tour-level events. Her big break came the following year, at the 2020 French Open, as she stormed to the finals and clinched her first Grand Slam title.
When Swiatek entered the Roland Gorras tournament, she was ranked 54th in the world. It also made her the lowest-ranked champion since the rankings were introduced.
